Oh my goodness....I will certainly keep her and her family in my thoughts and prayers. |
Thank you all for your prayers and kind thoughts. I would like to share with you what happened today when I was making the final arrangements. We were at the funeral home discussing the wake and funeral mass, when the funeral director called my pastor. My pastor kept asking Mr. Kalas questions, and so he suggested that Father talk to me directly. He then handled me the phone. And then it hit me, my sister was especially close to Lacey, and when I told Father what happened, he said, "and what kind of sign do you think that was?" "That Lacey died within hours of your sister, and she was a healthy dog with no health problems." "Your sister took Lacey to let you know that she is "okay" and not to worry. She is at peace. I asked Father if he thought it would be okay to bury Lacey in the casket with Pauline. He said that would be no problem, and the funeral director agreed. He told me that when I bring her clothes up to the funeral home tomorrow, to bring "my little baby," and they will place her in the casket with my sister. This gives me so much comfort. My sister who dearly loved Lacey will not be alone, and Lacey will not be in the cold ground by herself. I know some folks will think this is a little unorthadox, but I can think of no good reason why a perfectly healthy dog would die so suddenly on the very day that my sister passed away. And so both of them have passed to Rainbow Ridge together and will be waiting for me when my time comes. My sister loved animals, and in the past few years she was unable to have pets because of her health, so now she will have my wonderful little Lacey for all eternity. God bless you all and thank you for being here for me. Keep little Biscuit in your thoughts, as he misses his little sister terribly. When I figure out how to download pictures, I will post a pix of Lacey. |
Oh My God! I cant imagine what she must be going through. My family and I will be praying for her. The poor thing. God Bless her and her family. :heart to :cry8: |
Im so sorry for your loss and I think it is great That lacey will be with your sister forever. |
I want to thank every one of you for your support of Helen during such a sad time. We always expect to "celebrate" New Year's Eve and I can say there is no celebrating for Helen and her family. I cannot tell you how happy I am that everyone agreed to bury Lacey with her auntie. It seems so fitting that they be together in the hereafter, wherever we believe that is. Helen is so committed to love and care of these treasures we have been given on loan and she will be okay. But, we all know it takes time to deal with the death of our companions and when a sister is also lost, the burden can be almost unbearable.. Again, thank you |
Helen, that's a wonderful idea. I couldn't imagine them resting in peace separately!! Hugs! |
Oh Helen even though I'm new here, my heart aches for you. But it is so truly wonderful that you were able to make the arrangements to have Pauline and Lacey buried together!! I am sure that it is a great comfort to you. That it SO special. It was incredibly touching to read your note to everyone here telling of your days events and how it came to you to do this wonderful thing for the two of them. May your days become easier soon. :lovewings :lovewings |
Helen I'm so sorry for your loss. My deepest sympathies. RIP Pauline and Lacey. Im so happy that you can bury your sister and Lacey together. We are here for you. |
Helen, I am so terribly sorry for your losses. I wouldn't presume to tell you that I know how your feel ... I do, however, know how I would feel and I cannot imagine the pain. May God bless you and your family and give you comfort and peace. |
I'll pray for her too! I'm so sorry. |
Helen sending prayers for you upward and hugs outward to you. I cannot imagine the pain you must be experiencing...... |

Oh my gosh - how sad! My thoughts are with you Helen. |
God Bless little Lacy and her aunt Pauline. That is so sad to lose both of them like that. She has the same name as my little Lacey just 1 letter difference in spelling. We are many miles apart, but you are in my thoughts and prayers. |
