New Yorkie Owner Hello everyone, My name is Debbie and I have just purchased a baby Yorkie boy, his name is Toby. Just a few notes on Toby. I purchased him at 8 weeks old, he weighed 3.5 lbs. now at 12 weeks old he is at 6 lbs. My vet said she thinks he will be between 12 - 14 lbs. at maturity, i didn't know Yorkies got that big. If anyone with a larger Yorkie could let me know. Thank You, Debbie and Toby |
There are plenty of members who have larger yorkies affectionately known as teapots. Check out this link. looks like Toby should fill an application:p http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...apot-club.html |
Welcome Debbie and Toby! I can't comment on the size, but you came to the right place for everything Yorkie. Looking forward to seeing pictures of your sweet little guy! Katheleen |
Welcome to YT!! Our Boo is a 'teapot' :p He's 11 lbs and just the sweetest most amazing guy. He loves to cuddle and is a great big brother to my 2 youngest. Can't wait to see pic's of you sweetie. :) |
11-14lbs is still pretty small you know :D Some yorkies are just more "rubust" than others ;) Mine are sibblings, and by looking at them, youīd think they weigh the same, but Milo is just under the 4lbs mark whilst Bella is at 6lbs.Thats a whole 2lbs difference that you honestly canīt see ;) I know plenty of people with bigger yorkies, and I am often surprised when people tell me the weight of their babys, because they honestly donīt look that big to me.Some have skinny little legs and lean bodys, others have more robust bodys and less hair etc.At the end of the day, itīs just that much more cuteness :D |
Welcome :) |
My girl Minnie was 11-12 lbs, and full-blooded yorkie. Yorkies can occasionally get up to 20 lbs; they were once much larger dogs on average back in the old country before they were bred down in size, I believe. |
Helo and welcome to YT. |
