It is tupperware so it should stay closed however I also ran tape around it to keep it secure. My dogs definitely do not like the smell of the tree oil. I hope the cat does not like the smell either.
Our yard is fenced and very large so I don't believe there is anything we can do to the fence to keep the cat out. Besides there are about 6-8 cats in the neighborhood that roam freely during the day. I don't believe I can keep them all out of the yard. My "dog owner neighbors" have set up motion activated water sprinklers in their yards for fear of a cat entry.
I am going to continue looking for a different doggie door, magnetically or electronically activated. I know Edward would not have any problems. I just need to find something that Scarlett can use. Jeepers, I have learned a lot today. All of you have been so helpful. My husband has also been helpful. He placed a sticky note over the doggie door that says "DOGS ONLY!" It is never dull here! |
