new puppy I went to oregon today with my girlfriend to pick up her new puppy, she just lost her yorkie silky mix in may. His name is rylee and he is 11 wks old, he weighs a little over 2lbs and he is full of it. I have so may bite marks on the arm from him chewing on aunt sandy. He has had 2 sets of shots, and has been dewormed and is going to the vet tomorrow. He did not even get carsick over 6 hrs in the car. |
Congrats on your new little one! :) |
Yes, congrats on the new little one, AND, you need to start curtailing that biting issue NOW ! |
Welcome to YT. I agree that while the chewing is natural for teething puppies and seemingly innocent enough, it can develop into a bad habit as the pup grows. And those little scratches will turn into bites. Best to discourage nipping on you and provide lots and lots of chewing alternatives. There's lots of advice about what's good for yorkie pups to chew on here. Be careful of chews that can be eaten - they may irritate the baby's tummy and cause diahrea or make the pup throw up. Don't use rawhide - ever. Good luck. |
Don't forget to bring a poop sample to the vet! If you don't think you'll have one on the day of the appointment, save the one from the day before. Put it in 2 baggies and stick it in the fridge (don't worry, it won't hurt anything!) Good luck. |
I was telling my friend about the poo sample, and she knows to not use rawhide, and she found out today he has a luxating patella, that goes out instead of in, Im not sure what the grade was. She has talked to the breeder, and he weighs 4 lbs already. She is working on the biting issue, Im so glad chester wasnt that bad |
congrats on your new baby |
