She must be a little confused because she doesn't let me know when she has to go she just goes to the pad. I live in Michigan where we can get lots of snow. I thought pee pad training was a good idea for numerous reasons. But obviously it has it's drawbacks. I've heard Yorkies are notorious for peeing inside. I thought if I gave her the option of the pee pad, she wouldn't go on the carpet. Does anyone else have this issue with visiting friends and having to bring a pad? Or training tips for friends houses where there are no pads. I want to be able to take her with me without a pad and not have to take her out 2x an hour to make sure she doesn't just pee anywhere. | I just think that it is a Yorkie thing. My doggie is also pee pad trained and she will pee outside (as long as she is on a leash - she won't go if she is running free) and she is starting to poop outside. YEAAAHHH She used to go on the pee pads inside anywhere, including in my work. But NOW, she has decided that she is going to pee on the rugs in work. Not a good thing obviously, especially if it is in front of your boss. Who absolutely adores her, THANK GOD.
I don't know what it is with these dogs, they just, like all of a sudden, decide, hmmm I am going to NOT pee on the pee pad that I pee on every day at home.
The breeder I got her from says to take away her privileges when she does stuff like that (she also went through a phase where she peed on my rugs for 2 weeks AFTER being pee pad trained for a year). I ended up keeping her in the kitchen for 2 weeks and that worked like a charm. No more peeing on the rugs. She wanted her privileges of being in the rest of the house back, so she stopped looking at me, squatting and peeing wherever she wanted. The breeder also told me that Yorkies think the whole world is their toilet. ahahahahahah SO TRUE!!
Anyway, I don't have an answer for you but just to say, keep bringing the pee pad wherever you go. I am: have pee pad will travel!!!: |
