New to Yorkie Talk :aimeeyorkHi my name is Michelle and I'm the mom to a soon to be 3 year old male yorkie name Rocky. I've owned dogs my entire life but this is my first with a yorkie and I have to say he has stolen my heart. The love and devotion he shows me everyday is priceless. He turned out to be a little bigger than I expected weighing about 10lbs but that's all the more to love. I do have one concern and that's he's over aggressive. When were at a stop light he goes crazy barking and growling at the people next to us. I can't have anyone enter my home without putting Rocky away because he will bite. We have had instances where he has bitten people. Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to control this behavior? |
Welcome to Yorkie Talk. Sorry I don't have any experience or advice about aggression, but hopefully you can contact a trainer or behavior therapist to help you. It would be a shame for him to continue this behavior and ultimately hurt someone. |
Welcome to YT. There are many reasons for aggression, including fear and anxiety. It's important that you have your pup (3 yr old is still a pup in my eyes) evaluated so you can best help him ease into his new environment. Give him time and love and have the patience of a saint! Good luck. |
