How do I decline a puppy?
 
I've been talking to this person who has a yorkie puppy, but I recently just checked online and there's 3 yorkie mix puppies for adoption. I'm torn now. Do I tell this other person that I'm going to decline a puppy now, because there's yorkie mix pups up for adoption? Or do I still go with him?:confused:

Do you have a contract with this person? What does it say? If your heart is set on the mixes then I would be honest with your breeder. A good breeder wants to make sure that the pup and the owner are a good match and its going to be a permanent placement.

You could always adopt them both :D

As long as you didn't put a deposit down you should be ok to decline the other Yorkie. Picking a dog is a personal decision… so with that being said, go with what you feel is in your heart. A dog is a lifetime commitment, so make sure the one you pick is the one you want. :D

I am never offended if someone changes their mind for whatever reason on one of my pups especially if I have not taken a deposit. I prefer a home where the person is clawing at my door and absolutely insists on one of mine from me. Others can do as they please and are welcome to go elsewhere. I need a firm commitment for the lifetime of the pup.
If I have taken a deposit, you won't be getting it back under this type of circumstance but then I don't take a large deposit in the first place.
If you don't care if you buy a purebred, don't know what breeder you are talking about and how good the breeder is, or a mutt then choose which one you want. Hopefully you won't change your mind later after purchase as I know for sure the mutt breeder won't be taking it back. Whether or not the purebred yorkie breeder would well it depends on what the breeder does or doesnt' do.

As in check out the shelters and rescues? Excellent idea wish i had said that! But for many rescues and shelters they will interview and turn you down if they find you unsuitable home prospect. At least the ones I know of do.

They're up for adoption. The woman had too many dogs (probably a dog hoarder) and she gave a lot of them up. They're Yorkie/Maltese mixes. 3 males and are said to be about 2.5months old. I've been trying to get intouch with the place but have not heard any call backs..I'm hoping they weren't already adopted =(

Nope, I didn't put a deposit down..I'm actually supposed to meet with the owner this friday and talk.
