Odd Silent Communication I guess this is my communication question week.....
Preface: Skeeter is a mama's boy and ALWAYS sleeps at my feet with his Foxy in his mouth and then under his chin. Adie moves around as she has taken the leadership roll. She starts off in the office then moves to Cassie's bed in the bedroom then ends up in my bed laying up against my back.
Odd event: Just as I was drifting off to sleep last night I felt Skeeter jump off the bed (there is a chest at the end of the bed and stairs leading down from there). I thought He may be going to use the pee pad but then I heard his little nails clicking across the floor. We leave the hall light on and the bedroom door cracked so the cat can move around. As I heard this clicking I opened my eyes and started watching for my fat boy. So I see him heading toward the door with Foxy in his mouth. ???? Very strange for him to leave me. But as he approached the door I see Adie peeking in. They meet nose to nose and just stand there for at least 45 seconds. Then Skeeter backs up and heads over to Cassie's bed and Adie walks in. After sitting just inside the door for a few seconds she walks over to the dog bed and looks at Skeeter. Skeeter gets out of the bed and Adie gets into it. Skeeter then whines. Adie gets out of the bed and Skeeter grabs Foxy and leaves the room. Adie gets back in the dog bed. I wait several minutes to see if Skeeter is coming back and drift off to sleep without finding out. When the alarm went off all four of my fur kids (and Foxy) were asleep and in their normal spots. Gracie is the only one that likes to rise early so it wasn't hard to count heads. Soooooo were Skeeter and Adie communicating silently? And if they were, and can, why did Skeeter have to whine to get Foxy? Since Cassie died Adie has been taking charge and I suspect she makes rounds during the night. I almost think there was a changing of the guard I didn't know existed! Comments PLEASE |
