Im sure this is a thread somehwere I wanted to ask what is a good oil? to apply to Zoeys hair to get all the nots out? should i use baby oil? I heard some coconut oil product out there is good but i dont know the brand name? |
I use Nutiva Organic Coconut Oil. |
Wampum products have an EXCELLENT Miracle grooming spray that works well. (Get the "double strength" or DS version.) I spray it in Lucy's hair and let it sit a bit and then start combing the mats out. You can order from a lady in NJ. I think the cite is trendywendy.com. Also, she sells Arturo products which offer a dematting solution. She's not overpriced but if you're from Jersey you'll have to pay sales tax. You also might consider getting a small round tipped scissor and just snipping them out. I do that with the one's that are close to the skin. There's so much hair that you can't notice a thing. Good luck. |
I use Spectrum's extra virgin organic coconut oil...my folks are Caribbean so we use that "ish" on everything lol (burns, helps with constipation when ingested, bug bites, skin allergies, makes your skin look younger, dandruff, lip balm, etc) it's a wonder oil:D plus a little goes a long way |

I also like the fragrance free aspect. Sold in fairly large bottles too. Like I mentioned, the seller also sells Arturo products - which I have not tried. I just ordered some stuff a couple of days ago - actually, a dematting product! You should try it - delvery is really fast too. Good luck to everyone! |
Oh wow thanks! I want her hair to be long so im gonna try it out...although she has the cotton type of hair...it will be hard but i wanna see how she will look with long hair! |
Zoey doesn't look cottony to me. Fluffy, yes...but not really cottony. Then again, I haven't felt her hair. :p My favorite brush spray is Isle of Dogs Silky Coating Brush Spray. You spray it on before you brush & it really helps with tangles. Diluting any conditioner in water works too. But I just like the scent of the Isle of Dogs stuff. You can spray a little all over the coat, or spray it directly on the mat/tangle, or spray it on the brush before you brush her. I'm sure that she'll be adorable with long hair. :) |
I use Cowboy Magic detangler. It costs a fortune, but works very well for removing hair mats. |

I love hair serum, mine is called coconut milk. It is the same hair serum I use on me and my daughters hair, not as greasy feeling as regular oil. Costs about $6 at Walmart. |
