What size crate are you putting her in? What type of play pen do you have? Obviously she is having separation anxiety. Does she have a soft bed and a warm blanket? Is she warm enough? Yorkies don't have very warm coats, especially when they are puppies. Maybe if she has something to snuggle up with and something to keep her warm she will be more apt to settle down and go to sleep. Boy, are you lucky to have someone that comes in during the day to take them out! Hopefully, the two dogs will learn to love each other over time but it sounds like you are doing well to supervise them closely for now. |

I did order the puppy with heartbeat and it should be in this week. I know with time she'll get better but I see how tired she is during the day after not sleeping well all night. We tried putting her crate in our room so that she could see us and that didn't help either. I have tried covering crate and not covering crate. I have a great neighbor and she is even going to keep them for a few days the end of the month for us to go on vacation. My hope is by then Maggie will be adjusted and not up most of the night. |
We have the same crate and expen, but even after 2 years Abby is not crazy about going in either one. Ziva runs to it for nite-nite- Abby we have to carry to it. My husband was pushed to the limit one night and moved them to the other side of the house and we all got a better nights sleep. (We crate at night because I am such a light sleeper.) |

Molly wouldn't be quiet at first either. She barked for about 15 minutes then went to sleep and only woke up to go outside to potty. After she got spayed in July she quit doing that so her crate is in our room next to our bed. I tried putting Maggie there but she is too loud and no sleep for us makes a bad day at work. We had to put her downstairs in the guest bathroom with the door shut to get some sleep. We can still hear her enough to check on her and take her potty. The slightest sound in the house and she is up barking and crying. |
Fingers crossed your wee girl settles soon.....otherwise (you know what I'm going to say, don't you ;)) it looks like Baby is gonna have to sleep in your arms at night :p |
