find tex a toy Has anyone found toys that yorkies like. Tex is so pickyy and only likes fingers. |
Is Tex food driven? If so, you can get one of those treat puzzle toys? |
My little Gizmo loves the squeak toys, specifically his little long green doggy one. He loves that squeaky sound so much he keeps trying to make little green yorkie babies with it lol. He learned to squeak it in about 5 seconds , and now he has to have it every where he goes. He also loves his knotted little rope toy for playing tug of war. I'm new to yorkies, and got him just last Thursday , but he seems to be training me well so far as to what he likes :-) Good luck on your toy search, I will be watching this thread for any advice I can use too haha. |
These are the toys my 20 week old Cookie has, rated on a scale of 1-5 on how much she likes them: 1. A small, pretty sturdy Simba The Lion King stuffed animal with no small parts: 5 2. A squeaky tennis ball, a little smaller than normal: 4 3. A rope with a plastic chew section in the middle: 1 4. A Nylabone pacifier: 2 5. A sock with a knot twisted in the middle: 4 6. A plastic chew toy with a soft bacon flavored area: 4 at first, 2 a month later (the bacon flavor must have worn out a lot) |
One way I get her interested in her toys is to put them in my mouth, shake them, and growl. Then she wants to try to pull them out of my mouth and play with them. It's a pretty fun game if you aren't grossed out by it and your pup has learned not to bite. |
Galen's favorite toy is a leather toy. I got him the leather tug toy. They are wonderful. I save it for grooming time. It keeps him busy while I brush him and if he has any mats. This is where I got it You searched for Leather toy - Scarlet's Way |
2 Attachment(s) Anything that squeeks is a winner in our house. These especially because they are small enough for little mouths. And they bounce around all crazy like because they are perfectly round. The kids love 'em. I've only found them at Petco. Attachment 390550 Petco Latex Puppy Sweetie Dog Toys - Dog Ball and Dog Toy from petco.com And this is still a favorite, the bottom toy. I've lost track of how many I've bought in the last 5 years. It's got a great texture and puppys love it. I've found it at both Petco and PetSmartAttachment 390551 Petstages Mini Dental Chew Pack of Dog Toys, 3 Pack at PETCO |
Squeak toys, braided rope toys and tennis balls are favorites around here. But the all time favorite is an empty water bottle stuck in a sock. Mine go nuts over that. Go figure. |

Draco also loves a stuffed Fox that we call Teddy because it previously belonged to My Pomeranian Teddy who looked like a fox. He also likes those ones you can stick a water bottle in and makes all kind of sounds. Or the plush one that rustle a lot like paper. I like to take Draco with me to the pet store so he can help pick out the toys he likes. He has an Octopus thats almost as big as him that he loves to play with, everyone giggled because he dragged it around the store while we shopped. |
Well he doesnt find anything interesting in dog toys. He likes random things like wood blocks. I know his baby teeth still need to come out and he's into biting. |
Gina has a dragon, with a squeaky in it, a smallish yellow duck with the squeaker in it's head, two different size ropes, a small Kong tennis ball, a cat toy ball with a bell in it, and her favorite is a toilet paper tube with the ends pushed in. She just graduated puppy training today, but I would take her down the toy isle and see her reaction to the toys that I would pick out, if she turned her head away it went back, if she tried to grab it and bite it, that was the one she got. Good luck in your search, but try the TP tube, my old Yorkie loved it as well. Cheers Quad :aimeeyork |
