We were stopped a dozen times yesterday.... ... so my boys could get lovin from strangers! :D We bought a camper in a seasonal trailer park at a very popular, large lake in NH. We went for the weekend and had the boys. Yesterday we took them for a walk to the beach strip and walked the whole road. We were stopped by different people at least a dozen times so they could gush and love on my boys! I carry my Dex a lot bc he's spoiled and he wants me to and I do. LOL Well he has a teddy bear face and big brown eyes, hes a doll. He's also a very petite 7lbs, people just FLOCK to him! We had 5 women at 1x around us. Fletch is such a love bug and wags & wags, but everyone always wants Dexter! Makes me sad! We had a Yorkie playdate with 5 yorkies our first night at camp, and we had people stopping traffic to show us their Yorkie(s) in their cars while we were walking ours. It was so funny! Hubby thinks all us yorkie owners are NUTS! LOL He cannot believe how much attention they get when we take them out. After 8 years, I still can't believe it either! :p |
Oh, I know! Having Lexie is like going around with a major celebrity! :) I can't imagine why Fletch gets snubbed--he's soooo adorable too! |
I know! Some stores, I just can't go in. Everyone knows her by name in Home Depot. When I go in I have to walk real fast and dart down the first isle so the lady in the front selling windows/doors won't see us. If I see any employee, I dart down another isle. I'm sure I look like I'm stealing because my movement is so suspicious. But, my Lexi loves every minute of it! The last time we were in there one lady was yelling to the top of her voice, 'My daughter's name Lexi, the same as her dog!' I was at the other end of the store by then. I could have heard her a mile away! I think Fletch is adorable, too! |
we get that with morgan also |
Awww, that makes me sad for Fletch. |
We just got back from the lakes and when we went for walks in the Arnolds Park area by the lake, we got stopped all the time! When you have 3 yorkies in your arms, it creates a lot of attention! We must have been stopped 5 times before we even reached the lake. My son, just rolls his eyes when people want to greet and pet them! Lol.....They all seem to get equal attention, though. Most are amazed that they are so small. I guess, in our area, most are bigger than standard size. We even met another lady waking her yorkie and her yorkies was just a little bigger than ours. She was amazed that her yorkie, like ours and didn't even growl or shy away. We did walk a little with them...it was quite a yorkie parade! |
People love a dog they can hold & you're holding Dex, not Fletch. When they're showing more attention to Dex, maybe you can be the one who gives Fletch a lot of attention & love. I have 2 who are the same size (3.5 lb.) & it's amazing how so many people will pick their favorite & that's the one they want to hold & know all about, & then ignore the other. Teena's a cuddly lovebug & Dolly is the beautiful "show dog". I'd say one is favored over the other about 50-50. |
Fletch wags away but yeah we don't hold him because he loves to walk, he loves to dry 'mark' everything, he is excited and bigger and I don't worry too much about him getting hurt or stepped on. When people come over to shower Dex with attention, I pick up Fletch so they can love on him too! He just wags and wags and wags where Dex turns away from people, shys away from their touch. LOL They are so different my boys. Then sometimes Dex is outgoing and social and loves everyone! LOL My Fletch is my heart! I love my boys sooooo much, but Fletch he has me with his expressive eyes and his kisses! Dex is so cute, but his eyes are not nearly as expressive and he hardly ever gives kisses! |
Well yes and we all congregate together lol |
