Pet relocation help please Hi everyone, I just recently got offered a new job in Chula Vista Ca, and just moved, but by myself. My wife stayed behind with my son and 2 fur babies. My wife said ever since i moved, all my babies are going crazy without me. Truthfully I think im going crazy without my family! But I digress, I was wondering if anyone has personal experience with any pet relocation and may be able to recommend someone that offers this. I wanted to have my fur babies shipped to me to lighten the load on my wife. Any help is appreciated, Im actually headed to the Usps to find out more info. |
I know they actually have transport companies. Im not sure if that helps. Wishing you the best with the move and relocation. |
Before Southwest Airlines started taking pets in cabin, I used to ship pups via Delta VIP....knock on wood, I never had a problem with Delta getting my dogs safely from point A to point B.....I know they had an "airplane transport service" that has apparently since gone out of business....I also know they have overland transport services, where they drive your pet to where you are....insured and bonded drivers....(we had long ago thought about transporting horses in a service like this....but divorce finalized THAT thought process!) I do not know the names of any of these services, but it should be easily found! Good luck dad, safe journey for all.....God speed with getting all your little family where you are out in Ca.!!! |
Continental Continental is wonderful is they service your area. |
I guess your wife, son, furbies coming to visit you isn't an option? |

Stockton is less than 500 miles to Chula Vista (my home town, BTW!) Couldn't you drive up there on a Friday evening and back down Sunday? It's not a great drive, but it's doable. Man, I miss California... |
The trip is not that far we usually make the trip, stay overnight then head back. You can easily swing by on one of your days off and head back next morning. I would suggest getting a playpen for your pups until they are used to the routine of the new house. I do this drive every other month with my two pups and my two kids. My family lives all over so cal so we do this drive everytime we visit. From Stockton you can just take the 99 down, make a couple potty breaks for the pups. |
ROAD TRIP!!!! I thought we were talking about going cross country!! Wife can crate the pups and load up the baby and drive to you, spend the weekend, then drive home without the pups! Or YOU go home for the weekend, pick up the pups, spend the weekend, and drive back to Chula Vista! |

OK what the heck does the United States Postal Service have to do with relocating pet's?? They do not mail or transport pet's, good grief what a tradgey that would be. They have transport companies that do this, BUT there is no way I would do this at all. IF you can find any way possible fly back and get them and either fly back with them or rent a car and drive back with them. |
