Interesting question, what do you all think?
 
While eating dinner, my sister and I were talking about dogs as we are both avid dog lovers. I called them furbabies and she made an interesting observation, she pointed out that since Yorkies have hair instead of fur so shouldn't they be called hairbabies?
I told her I would see what the lovely people of YorkieTalk think on the matter. So will it be furbaby or hairbaby? Tell me what you think!:D

Haha...I'm so used to saying furbabies, I don't think I could change. But that was a great question. I'll be interested to see others replies.

Furbaby, I think, applies to all our furry friends that we baby like children.

A hamster, ferret or cat could be a "furbaby" to a devoted owner.

So, the nickname has to stick. Hairbaby just doesn't sound as cute to me.

Thats the thing though, Yorkies aren't furry but they are hairy!:p
And yeah, hairbaby doesn't sound as cute.:rolleyes:

I don't really use the term 'furbabies'. I prefer using babies, pups, and munchkins :)

Well if you really want to be correct, they're not "babies" either. So then we'd just call them "dogs" or "hairdogs". Naaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....

Furbabies is just a term of affection and not a technical term. If we only spoke to be technically correct, our language would be dull indeed.

Mini...is "minikins" Vinnie is Vinster, Vincenzo when training, Vinnie Vin...and Mia Is MiaMia...when talking to others I say gotta get home my "lovey doves" are waiting for me...! When something is wrong or they are sick, if I'm crying and upset they are "my babies"....gosh I love them so much.


when they pee me off (often intentionally) they are all HEY YOU...funny as soon as I say meeska...they run! lol I tend to talk to them in Italian when angry! Sign Language when I don't want them to hear me! lmao

Interesting: Yorkies do have hair and I do like the term Fur-babies but I prefer to call mine fur-butts. But that would be so very awkward if I were to start calling them " Hairy-butts" :D Dontcha think ?

I actually call mine "amor". Haha! My neighbors think I let my boyfriend move in. ;)

I'm on the munchkin boat. Whenever we talk about the kiddos (another name we use) with my bestie they're munchkins or "the kids." No hairy babies here. ;) :p
