Reusable Potty Pads Questions Hi I am thinking of using reusable potty pads and was wondering if you would share your favorite brands and where you got them? Buddy doesn't potty outside when I take him out. Sweetie will potty outside but also potties in her expen. I would rather them potty outside but today it is pouring and I don't want to go outside either. Lol. The disposable ones are slide everywhere, especially with Buddy ( he is such a big boy ) Thanks Crystal |
By reusable, so you mean washable? I love our washables, I get mine from Ryan Use Washable Pee Pads to Help with the Process of Puppy Potty Training Cathy makes some nice ones w/different materials you can pick out: Washable Dog Pee Pads | Cotton Cloth Fabric Selections |

I use the Four Paws brand and absolutely love them. They wash up really nice every time, and they are very absorbent. I've purchase mine at my local pet store, and through Amazon. |
Reusable Potty Pads I live in Vermont and my baby is under a year old and doesn't go out to potty. I started with disposables then found washables online and decided to try them. She wouldn't have anything to do with them so I put a disposable one on top thinking she would get used to them that way but it set back her potty training almost to day one until I took the washables away. Any suggestions on how I could get her to change her mind about the cloth ones? Cup |
I use reclaimed hospital pads. I got over 900 pads absolutely free of charge from a local company that supplies hospitals. Most of the pads looked perfect and had no stains or holes. I love these pads especially at the price . I wash my pads 4 at a time using bleach and my fantastic homemade laundry soap. |
Cloth potty pads Thank you for your response but the problem I am having is getting Toni to use them. She absolutely refuses. I tried putting a disposable one on top of the cloth to see if that would work but that only set potty training back to the beginning until I removed the cloth one and she forgave me. Any suggestions on how to get her to USE cloth pads? Cup |
I like the idea of free ones. If you cant find those, I get human type pads from healthykin.com, which I found online. I don't have any reason to advertise them, but I found the price was good. I wash a bunch (8 to 10) at a time with bleach and laundry soap. |

There are several products on the market which encourage a dog, puppy to urinate in a specific area. One is Simple Solution Puppy Aid. You spray a small amount on the potty pad and encourage the dog to sniff it. When she performs, praise her like it is the best thing she has ever done! Continue using the spray and praising until she gets the idea. You may even start by using the spray on one of her disposable pads and then use the cloth one. In order to be successful, once you start using the cloth pads, DON'T cave and go back to the disposables. |
I get the light brown Laminated pads from EZ Whelp - they are awesome! SUPER thin, yet they absorb an astounding amount of urine! Plus, bc they're thin, they lay nice and flat and look neat rather than wrinkly or wavy. Buy Waterproof Pads for Whelping |
I bought travel baby change mats from walmart a two pack was I think $11 in Canada likely way cheaper in the states. I bought a few packs. They wash up great |

What a totally fantastic idea. I bet some rescues would love this idea |
how about the next time she pees on the floor soak it up with a cloth one and leave it in there, she will smell her pee on it and come back to it later. We did that with my friends new pups and thankfully it worked |
