humping hi.now most of the time buddy is good but when we got him thee lady gave us a teddy of his and said it was his girlfriend i don't think i need to elaborate.teedy gone and a month on no issues until today he started humping a pillow took it away and problem solved he is getting neutered soon.will this help stop it and if not any tips to stop humping. |
We have an 11 month old chihauhua mix named Biscuit who humps everything in sight. We have 4 male dogs and he is the only one who does that. The vet says that he should calm down as soon as he's neutered. I hope so. |
Neutering will usually curb their desire to hump. Some males will continue after neutering, but my male completely stopped. |

Galen is neutered. And he still is "loving" Willow (the cat). I was hoping getting snipped with stop it . . . But Noooo |
Magnus is neutered but he will occasionally go to his room and get friendly with his bed. Sometimes, he'll drag his bed out of his room and do it... It used to be the red pillow in the sittingroom. Not sure why he replaced it with his bed. Zoey is also spayed. The only time she gets friendly is when she's trying to dominate. Unlike Magnus, she tries to get friendly with either Magnus (which.. actually looks pretty funny b/c of their size difference), or my forearm. Of course, I put a stop to it right away. Just give a sharp "NO" and she stops. |
Most of the time they are trying to dominate the object. Some dogs just show of their dominating more than others |
wylies mom do you not mind your dogs humping/is it good for them to hump |
My girl Phoebe humps the stairs to my bed ONLY! Its not location because she used to hump them when they were in the family room. This is the only thing she humps. My only thought is that maybe its the scent on the covering because it was given to me by a rescuer. Ive washed the cover several times, but Phoebe still "loves" it lol. |
