Dog TV So Dog TV started on DirecTV today. Any of your pups watch it? This is what happened with Shelby...he got riled up from me filming him...other than this, he pays no attention to it lol Shelby and Dog tv - YouTube |
Yo know what? He is actually watching it off and on. More than he ha ever for sure. Interesting. I will try toget better video and llighting tomorrow |
Ive never heard of it. What is it now? I'm kinda slow tonight...lol |
I heard about it on news, but can't imagine my pups actually watching it. Maybe I'm wrong though. |
That is so funny. He is telling you about it. I could not get Galen it sit down enought to watch anything. But my Cats watch some TV. Rosencrantz loves deadliest catch. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern love the movie Cats and dogs II I was watching it one day. Then I shut it off they walked away. I turned it back on. They came back and watched it too the end. . . .maybe they were getting ideas? . . . To take over the world . . . . :sidesplt: . . . Hey they are cats. You never know |
Rhett absolutely watches TV. And the smart little bugger knows every single commercial with a dog in it. He starts to bark and growl as soon as he hears the intro, even before the dog is shown. Obviously, Animal Planet is not allowed in our house. |
How funny :) Khloe likes to bark and growl at the animals on the screen, but I don't think Couver even notices the tv. |
I wish I could receive this channel, but I have regular cable. :( My yorkie doesn't watch t.v., but I have a mixed bull dog that loves to watch it when there are animals on it. I leave my t.v. on animal channel everyday, while I am at work. She also, loves old western movies with all the horses. :) I hope all the yorkies who can watch this channel loves it. |
I have two dogs obsessed with TV. They too know every time the music comes on for a dog related commercial. They go nuts when they hear the commercial advertising the "Bacon" treat. I have to turn off the TV if I am on the phone and a pet commercial comes on. Hannah my Coton pounces against the TV stand. I'm sure the Yorkie would too if he were tall enough! No way can I watch any type of animal movie or commercial. To intentionally spend money for a program that would keep the dogs barking for hours is not even close to anything I want to entertain them with! |

I'd love to get a dvd or something to try on Magnus/Zoey. I leave the tv on when no one is going to be home but I think they just sleep. So I'd be interested to see if they'd react to dog tv. |
What an awesome idea! I leave the tv on for Billi, too, so it'll be neat to see if she reacts to this! |

Now if Addyson (my yorkie) watched there would probably be lots of noise! |
Luma likes cartoons and does her sassy little chirpy noises (not a growl, not a whine...we call it "sassing") if she hears barking on tv. I wish we had direct tv just so I could see if she liked dog tv. I read about it months and months ago. |
Well, I just turned over to its free trail starting 8/1 - 8/14 on Channel 354 on Direct TV and it's on a program called Afternoon Relaxation right now with only occasional dogs shots on it so Tibbe isn't even watching. He only likes it when dogs and other animals are quite active and making noises and so forth but for present, this wildlife programming is showing seals, seagulls, some people and the seashore and playing quiet relaxing music so he's not even paying attention. Hoping it picks up the pace! Bleh - not in HD. I'd watch it for relaxation if it were in HD! Pretty scenery and relaxing music. |

He really didn't watch it today, but last night he did. Laid in his "night night" spot but when I looked at him, his eyes were on the TV lol |
yeah morgan looked at it and then barked at it and walked away |
I caught him watching it again. He seems to be intrigued by certain sounds/noises. I didn't get video in time of course lol |
Tibbe has watched the Stimulation series with interest. He LOVES all the different sounds and I thought they might make him a little nervous as all kinds of odd or weird sounds used to be his big fear. But with the dogs onscreen as the sounds of vacuums, doorbells, squeaks, eeks, bells and such sound, he's very interested. Perks up, his ears prick way up and he's engaged. The sound is very excellent for variety with lots of mid-tones and mid-to-high tones and odd sounds you don't get on regular TV that much. He loves the simulated bouncing balls and the white JRT against the white background, too. He actually listens when those kids say "good boy" and "I love you". I think we're going to keep this channel for a while but it's early days yet. Might not be worth the $$$ in the end if they just have about 2 weeks programming and then just repeat. Course Tibbe might not mind that but then I don't leave the TV on for him when I'm gone. I've read too much about TV fires and such so I just leave on sports talk radio for him. But so far, Dog TV is a success with Tibbe except for that Relaxation series. He's not much into those segments. |

So I'll bet Tibbe is well versed in the Braves' winning streak huh? :D |
Lol My dogs ignore the tv. |
Only our dog Zoe watches tv sometimes. The other ones couldn't care less. |

'Course, after today, we'll have to pick some other baseball team to follow a little bit through the playoffs as the Rangers' season just tanked with the MLB announcement today! Ugh! :( Still, anyone out there that has a dog and access to Dog TV, try it and see. Just stick with it long enough to find out what parts your dogs likes. When I first tried it, that Relaxation series was on and I wasn't impressed with Tibbe's reaction but Tibbe likes most of the rest of it! He's always loved his TV but this channel, with the colors his eyes can see best more prevalent, much action in the middle of the screen and usually showing the entire body of the dog, constant activity of some kind, and the wonderful sounds that go with it plus others playing alongside - he's hooked for now. I love the way they play those sounds that upset some dogs like thunder and doorbells and whistles and engines with dogs playing on the screen at the same time. Some noise tracks even have dog-laughter sounds blended along with the noise track. Tibbe really loves to hear dog laughter. He perks up any time he hears that. When I play it for him on the computer, he comes over and starts getting so excited and dog-laughs himself. |
Sometime my guys watch, and sometimes they don't. I have NO idea just what material causes that, haven't been able to associate it with a given content, it's random  |
Wonder if Dish Network will have it. Hannah watches TV and I let her watch doggie videos on my laptop all the time. |
Thank you all! 1 Attachment(s) Hi all, I wanted to thank you so much for your kind words and support of DOGTV. Let me know if you have any questions about our channel, I'll be more than happy to help. You're pawesome!! Ron Levi Founder, DOGTV |
