Possible reconsideration I was wondering for all of those that have both male and female babies do you have a sex you like more than the other or one that is more agreeable, easier with training, mor loving ect? |
I have a male and a female. My male takes to training better than my female. My female is more the cuddler but with most people on here there male was more the cudler so my case is differrent. I love them both the same they both have their pros and cons. |
I think they all have their own personalities regardless of sex. My female is smart and sporty and my male is dumb (I'm sorry - but he is!) and cuddly. I wouldn't have either of them any other way! |
I can only say about my 4..The males were harder to housetrain, very protective of what they consider theirs, take the routine of grooming/baths easier, have a tendency to run after everything and try to (excuse me) hump everything else when excited, love to play, BUT, love to be held and cuddled and want to be within eyesite of you at all times, bark and are hessitant around new people but NEVER get car sick. The girls though not related are both very independent..they are the first to explore new things, but stay not far from Momma, both only tolerate grooming and can't wait to play. Seem to take to new animals better than the boys. Both girls love meeting new people, going places and new things and don't know a stranger which is scary. Neither wants to be held, but will lay by your side all day! So see...male/female...I think are both excellent...I thought I was a female dog lover only until I received my first male yorkie...Yes we have different issues, especially if you do not have your dogs fixed (a whole diff. issue) but let me say a little boy will just STEAL your heart away! I am fortunate to have BOTH!! So thank goodness I don't have to choose because I don't think I could anymore!! Just find a good breeder pick the pup you want...you will be so happy. |
Thank you for your oppinions...i think is what it mayboil down to is not knowing the sex and just picking the one i like. They seems like they have pros and cons which make it more difficult but i know i will be happy. I think i was origanly leaning towards the girl due to the cute little bows and i would feel bad about putting a bow on a boy kwim? |
Alot of people put bows on their boys and there are some cute boy bows out there. In keep my male short cause he has a cotten coat but if he didnt I would let his hair grow out and put bows in. |

I can't imagine our life without both our kids!! :D ps.......in the past 2 1/2 years of owning our Yorkies, I need to add that my Husbands blood pressure is down ....with in normal range without requiring any meds! Our Dr found this fascinating as did I !! |
The majority of them don't like bows anyway and will do anything to pull them out, so don't let that sway you one way or the other. ;) You must be looking at some. Good luck! :p |
ok another question do you like to keep their hair in a puppy cut or let it grow? |
Honestly, I have done both. I much prefer the hair short and the funny thing is that they prefer it short, too. There's no doubt about it. You can tell a world of difference in how they feel and act after they get it cut. Even the older doggies act like puppies when they get it cut short! :D |
The love of my life was my Jesse. He is forever missed. Anyhow, my pets have mostly been my males but I do love them all. And, check out ALL of the show pics and you will see that not ONE Yorkie, male or female, is without a nice red bow. They can be a necessity if you prefer to let the facial and head hair grom. Gotta keep their hair out of their eyes and food, Right? LOL |
I love both..but I tend to 'collect' boys..lololol...I just love the male personality in Yorkies that is..rofll |
My female is more independant, loves to cuddle at times but is pretty much just a Mommy's dog. My male is more outgoing, happy, loving, playful and cuddly with everyone.... I call him my little dufus. Very cute but not too bright, lol. My male is also a bit slower about the house training, but then I think that depends on the dog rather than their sex. I also am growing Bear's coat out and have him in a topknot. I think both males and females look cute with one. |
I have had 2 males and 2 females all were sweet. The males were harder to housebreak. |
