LOL, Lexie has ZERO prey drive! I live in the Wild Kingdom, with all kinds of critters about, and when we go for walks we'll spook a bunny right in front of us, and Lexie acts like it's not even there. I think the only instance of anything remotely prey drive was once at an outdoor restaurant a squirrel came close to us & she growled at it. Lex is just a Cloud Nine princess! :p |

That is so cool!! That was a long distance for those little legs to go, but they sure did go and fast!! |
ZoE lives up to her terrier name. She stalks anything that moves...squirrels, birds, rabbits, butterflies, bugs, blowing leaves. She had me literally laughing out loud the other evening, as she was trying to catch the shadow of a bird, as the shadow moved along the newly painted fence. She was so intently focused on the shadow that she failed to notice the actual bird just a few feet above her head. :D |

P-Nut must be very fast! |
Quincy was the only one who was raised around a cat, so they don't bother him at all. No the other three just go nuts, not sure what they would do it they ever come across a cat running free in our yard but when we go to my moms they nudge her cat Rosie and get very anxious around her. I don't care to imagine it. Now put a bird, squirrel, chimp monk, bunny or any small pre or the mail man in front of my dogs and they just go nuts. Barking non stop, running back and forth along the dog run like lunatics. Before I knew what they were doing or that it was even there. They found and killed new born bunny's they found in a nest in our yard. They went right for the eyes just like they do their toys. That was a very sad situation. I was not happy. Now, Miah is my bird dog she will chase down any bird she sees. She has caught and killed several. Than of course she rolls around on them rubbing the dead scent all over her body. Its the most disgusting thing ever! |

1 Attachment(s) My trio terrors are Momo, Princess & Turbo...they have a very high prey drive. They'll chase anything, even a leaf. Just hearing any bird will set them off. Chasing lizards are their fav, here's Princess.Attachment 389615 We used to have a squirrel taunt them @ our old house, they wanted to kill him, I'm sure of it! That squizzle made these funny sounds all the time & my guys would go nuts! Mimi just watches them, I think she's entertained by their cwazziness or 'oh here they go again'.:D |

RAzzle I would say is medium to high drive. Easily trained to high prey drive, which I wont' do as I don't want to encourage his natural nature to chase, and I mean seriously chase anything that moves. He is also a very bad scamp, I suppose as always it is my fault, as he will history wise, go after big dogs not of his pack then run to his pack of big dogs and let them deal with the consequences of his aggression. We stopped going to non lake leash free parks because of this. Magic my BRT has a very low prey drive. He cares not one whit mostly about any bird, squirrel, raccoon, what-ever that is just passing by. How-ever he has a huge defense drive. That means protection. His breed was bred to guard and protect against humans not animals. And he is very very smart about it. He will ratchet it up very quickly and once the threat has gone away (and that means stopped doing what-ever got him riled up) he loses interest. But he will guard against dogs if they come after me or our pack. Not many dogs want to engage when he steps forward. But some do. |
