Mischievous things your furbutt likes to do So I'm pretty sure I'm my pup Cookie's favorite toy. One of her favorite past-times is to have me pull her up on to the couch (she's bust barely short of being able to jump up there herself) and then she takes her bacon-flavored chew toy and sits on the edge of the couch. She chews it and then drops it on the floor, so I have to pick it back up and hand it to her. Any time I try to steer her to chew it on the inside of the couch she just turns around and takes it to the edge, chews it, and drops it. She knows I'll get it too, because I don't want her chewing on the couch lol. Any of you guys have your furbutt's do things like that? :yelrotflm We'll sit there and play this game for 10-15 minutes sometimes! |
She's definitely got you trained :D Probably tells all her doggy friends ''hey, guess what I trained The Human to do this week!'' :yelrotflm My cat George has us both trained too - he'll sit in front of the fridge and yell for ham, we will say ''No, George!'', he'll yell again and, whilst calling him all the names under the sun, we'll take a piece out for him  Devious lil' monsters the lot of 'em! :p |
Tibbe's got a zillion. First I can think of is his hiding all of his chewies - which he doesn't chew but hides - and then going to the drawer and begging for more because he's out of chews to hide. Before long, the house is dotted with 3" square chew flats everywhere and he's begging for one more. Besides, when I open his drawer of goodies, he hears one of the talking toys start up and it gives him an excuse to bark and he lives for that! That's just one that comes to mind since that's what he's up to right now. I'm going to love this thread! I hope it goes on for pages. |
Rosie is the same. She can't get on the couch herself, she ignores the doggy stairs, and she whines til i pick her up...then she jumps down. Lather, rinse repeat... Luma loves to play fetch but the game is more that she runs to get it, comes back to me, drops it at my feet and then snatches it back up before I can get it. Brat! :p |
Lets see... Magnus will only drink fresh COLD water unless he's absolutely desperate. Which isn't often. :) He will bark/scratch at the water bowl to get attention. If that doesn't work, he'll come and bark at me to follow him to the water bowl. Sometimes, I find that my body moves automatically not even realizing I actually heard him scratch at the bowl... He trained me REALLY well... |
I can not even get up in the morning and go to the bathroom without barking. He is being crate trained. He wants to to go to him first. I am floating but no . . . lol |
Enzo hides his chews all over the house too! Every nook and cranny has a damn chew there...and god forbid you pick up something and a chew falls out! He shoots a look like no other and takes another 30 mins scurring around the house for a new spot! Also, if he doesn't have fresh water, he takes his paw and splashes all the water out of the bowl! Then looks at me as if to say "There woman, now you HAVE to get me a fresh bowl!! lol |
I swear I was about to start a thread about hiding chews & treats just now! Billi will eat half of her treat & then run around crying, trying to find a place to hide the other half. She's got me running around the house showing her every nook & cranny that she can hide her treats & she just keeps crying. Only, I don't think she's doing it to stock up for later... My grand-dogger likes to sneak her treats from her. I'm thinking of making a hiding spot for Billi that only she can get to to hide her treats. Yeah, I'm a sucker. |
I had went to the pet store the other day and got a bunch of treats, wet food and his dry kibble, I came home and emptied out the paper bags, and I had to leave, I came home to torn up bags, he thought I had left him something little booger head |
I go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and when I come back little monkey already stole my pillow and spread out on top of it. Everytime. |
I cannot go potty without a squeeky toy being dropped on or whacked against my foot...mostly whacked against, then taken just out of reach from potty-sitting human while the brat barks "come on, get it!!!" |
Blazer likes to shred Kleenex whenever he finds it on the floor. He also likes to hide his bone- in our beds, usually. |
Well, I have a bully stick whinner! Teeka will stand by the drawer where they are stored and whine, scratch or paw at the drawer until I come and get one out for her! |
Macy likes to sleep under the covers and against my stomach. Molly likes to sleep on top of the covers curled up against my thigh. During the middle of the night, Molly will get up and jump on top of Macy who is under the covers and has no idea what just hit her. Macy takes off running and barking . Molly will calmly nose under the covers and take Macy's place next to my stomach. I swear I can hear Molly laughing as she curls up and goes back to sleep. |
When my cousin was younger our yorkie used to get on the back of the couch and drop his ball behind it, she'd get it for him twice, then tell him that's enough. As punishment for not getting it he'd scratch her head like crazy. Lola likes to steal my schrunchis and any paper she can get her paws on. |

Bella likes to steal my socks.....right off my feet! |
jasmin is a silly girl. She will come and put her paws on our hands or arms to play if we are sitting on the couch. Otherwise, if we are on the computer. she will bring her toys one by one and put them by our feet. In the morning, she loves to go with daddy to drop mommy off at work. When she sees her daddy putting on his shoes, she will lay on her back and stare at him. Who can say to this..she gets to go. haha Jasmin is a spoiled brat. She is the only baby in the house as well. |

Izzy loves to grab socks and run away with them.. She also loves straw wrappers. She wont eat them she just holds them in her mouth then spits it out on the floor. The other thing she loves is to get into the shower and steal my shower poufs I use! She unravels them and drags them through the house so its one long strand and no longer a ball! |
Amy also hides her chews all over the house. She has one though in particular that she has had in one corner for months. Every day she goes over to it and shoves it with her nose. The only problem is she is just shoving the carpet and not touching the chewey at all. Every time we see her doing this it just cracks us up. She works so hard at shoving it and never even touches it. |
Both Jack and Izzy will scratch at our (me and hubby) pants whilst we are sitting in the thrown. Izzy loves to tear up paper and any kind - kleenex, regular writing paper, even the dryer sheets (she usually steals those right from under my nose while I am folding clothes). She will also try to hide her favorite toy (little plush squeaky bone she got in the gift exchange). She will also steal anything that looks interesting and chew it up - we are talking pens, earphones, kids games that cost $30 to replace... :) Izzy will be eating from their bowl (they share a food bowl) and Jack will sit there and whine and whine until we tell him its okay to get in there - there is plenty of room around the bowl. Oh and Izzy will get off of the bed, after we have turned off the lights, and go to my husband's side of the bed and whine for him to pick her up. She also licks my hubby's entire head before we go to bed. She will then come over to me, lick me once on the cheek and then go to bed. The funniest thing she does, if hubby or I sneeze, she will stop whatever she is doing and run over and give us kisses to make sure we are okay. She is full of more antics than Jack. Love them both and yes, they both have us trained well. |
This is a fun thread, thanks for starting it!!! Winston is simply a joy to watch, going about his daily business...always has us giggling at him, never a dull moment. But the absolute cutest thing he does is, if one of us says "I Love You", he will immediately stop what he's doing, lays down and rolls over...all belly up. Don't know why he does this, I guess it's his way of saying "I Love You Too"!!! He does this every single time without fail. |
Bailey has a few little things I will tell about.. 1. he will wait for his buddy, Gus (our 7 year old dachshund to be asleep on a blanket) then start to bark, which gets Gus to run to the door and bark at which time Bailey takes the blanket makes it the way he wants and goes promptly to sleep. 2. He has a habit of "helping" me sort laundry.. I sort clothes on the floor in the washroom, at which time Bailey will grab underwear and start running around the house with it, needless to say it has happened where he has a pair of underwear and my husband's mom is walking in the door to take Gus for a walk. those are a few. I am enjoying reading everyone's posts :) |

Lacey thinks anything not glued down is hers. When I first got her I ordered a lot of toys for her online. 6 months later she thinks every package delivered is hers and has her head in the box as soon as I get it opened. She is also a underwear thief. When I take a shower I always lay my underwear and clothes I'm going to put on down on the vanity stool. Anytime I do that, she stills my bra, takes it to the living room and comes back for the panties. I now put my underwear in the sink when taking a shower. Her worst habit...I'm asleep on the couch. She gets her nasty bully stick and jumps on my shoulder and smacks me in the face with the slimy thing. I'll throw it to the other end of the couch and she will get it and come right back dangling it in my face. This will go on for a hour unless I take the thing away from her. |
So Cookie just had her last round of puppy shots (16 wks) last week, so I want to wait another week before taking her out on walks to public parks (since I read the immunization takes up to 2 weeks). For the most part her exercise consists of chasing me around the yard, digging, chasing lizards and birds, playing fetch with her tennis ball, and just exploring the yard. Thus I haven't started leash training until this week. She is pretty good about it, but sometimes will run between my legs or around them to try to get an easy hold to chew on the leash lol. I love this pup's mischievous and smartassish personality! |
So Cookie has a new mischievous trick: when we're on the couch and I put my legs up, she'll sneak under a pillow at my feet and pretend to be sleeping, only to lightly gnaw at my feet and lick them. I'm extremely ticklish and it makes me start laughing like crazy when she does it. |
