Lifting his leg and making on my piano bench Chloe is trained to go out on the terrace and use the pee pad. The pee pad is near the door and close to the bench of my baby grand. Many times he barks and I get up out of bed to let him out the door, but then I notice he's peed on the pad. He just wants me to get up out of bed,. Yesterday and a few days before, he barked, to get me out of bed and I ignored him. Well both those times when I got up in the am, I saw his present on the bench, which is metal so I don't have to worry about wood. He's in his room alone lights out and punished, which he knows.... He even gives me back talk when I tell him to go to his room... Question is how do I prevent this. I used vinegar , I used cayenne pepper on a paper towel, of course I clean the bench, but this is silly and I want him to stop. I know he's being spiteful. Thanks for your help. |

Man, I wish I could help you. MALE dogs and lifting thier leg!! I have a teapot chihuahua that thinks he rules the world. He is usually good, but then....I find he has lifted his leg on something! Makes me feel CRAZY! He can go months and not do this then, it's like he's on a roll. He will try to bite when taken back to the spot for a 'talk'. He knows exactly what he's done but doesn't care a bit! Chihuahua's are like that. My little yorkie Libby, seems to have to go outside a LOT. I have to really watch her because she won't tell me she has to go out, I have to rely on my own inner timer for every three hours or so. She sleeps all night no problem. But she WILL piddle if I don't keep a real eye on her during the day She is 3 yrs old.. I really don't know what to do with her. She really got off to the wrong start as I didn't get her until she was 6 mos old, then DH accidentally broke her heel a couple mos later and she was in a soft cast for quite some time after surgery. So, she couldn't go out because it was wet and snowy. It's been a challenge, but she is the sweetest little thing in the world! |
We have a chihauha/jack russel mix that constantly lifts his leg and no matter what we do to him (no hitting) he goes right back to it. He goes out a million times a day and pottys but then he comes inside and will lift his leg again. They say when we get him neutered he might stop which we are going to do in a couple of weeks. We were going to do it a month ago but the vet said he had an elevated liver value and didn't feel comfortable doing surgery so now he's on medication. As far as our Yorkie we have had a very hard time housebreaking him. He's also 3 years old |
Thanks for your help Chloe is fixed, and still does it, I think he thinks it's funny?? |
1 Attachment(s) IDThink he's being spiteful or think it's funny & punishing him will not teach him where to go & not to go potty...how old is Chloe? My guys are pee pad trained bc I used to work FT & now we live in a condo w/no yard. They still get their daily walk & if their grandparents come over, we go out 2 x's a day. They do prefer to go outside & will hold it when they know we will be going out in the evening. Anyhow, I have their potty area in the bathroom & wrap a water bottle in pee pad, propped against the wall. The boys use this as a marker (I have 1 that lifts his leg & the other follows everything he does!) & they never mark anywhere else. I didn't have to teach them to go there, they just naturally used it. Hope it helps. Attachment 389515 |
