Hello everyone! I'm back! Hello everyone. My name is Megan. I posted a few months ago, introducing myself and my yorkie Daisy, sadly, I lost her at 16 weeks old due to aspiration pneumonia. :( I was so sad but wanted another puppy. A short time later I found one! :) I named her Cricket and when I brought her home, she was sick. One Sunday morning, she was very constipated, she was rushed to the emergency vet and she was. They cleaned her out and sent her home The next day, she was still acting strange, not wanting to lay down, pacing the house. The regular vet wanted to do tests and it was determined that cricket had a liver shunt! Little cricket had surgery the end of June to repair her shunt and she is doing GREAT! :) she went to the vet a couple of weeks ago to have her staples removed and she weighed 3 lbs 10 oz! She is now 16 weeks old.she will go in few more weeks to have another bile acid test done and she is still on l/d food, antibiotic and lactulose in the meantime. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello again.:wavey: I will post a picture once I can figure out how to resize it. :) |
Aw, congrats on how well your kiddo is doing after her surgery - what a relief! I hope she just continues to get better and better. I'm glad you have another furkid to fill your heart after your tragic loss. Would love to see some piccies :)! |
I'm so sorry about the loss of Daisy. She has left her mark on your heart, and that love lasts forever. I hope you have a life filled with love, laughter, health, and happiness with Cricket. |
I am thrilled you new puppy is doing well! Sorry for the loss of Daisy...I would certainly stay a country mile away from whoever you are purchasing your puppies from, in the event you want to buy another one in the future! Research your breeder FIRST...find a responsible breeder that produces healthy babies and then buy your puppy from her. A responsible breeder will be very concerned who is buying her puppies, and where they are going. You will be given a health guarantee on your puppy.....a breeder that is strictly in it for the money, will not offer a health guarantee because she doesnt care what happens to that puppy after she has her money in hand....hopefully, that second pups breeder paid for the surgery and the diagnostics necessary to diagnose the babys condition. Glad your little baby is doing well now!!! So much to endure, so young!!! |
Welcome back! I'm sorry for your loss, 16 weeks is so young.:( Congrats on the new addition and may she continue to get better!:) |

1 Attachment(s) Here's Cricket is in her super girl dress! It seemed appropriate considering what she's been through 😃 attach]389469[/attach] |
That poor baby... I am sorry you lost her so young. I agree with Yorkiemom1, you shouldn't purchase any more babies from the breeders you have been using. If you get another puppy, please do your research to avoid getting a sick one again :( |
