How do I expand his potty times????? I bring my six month old yorkie outside to use the bathroom every hour. whenever we bring him out, he goes a little bit and we bring him in for a treat. Our vet told us that he should only being going about 3-4 times, in big amounts, per day. We have been bringing him out every hour and 20 minutes now instead. He goes outside when we bring him, but if we don't, he goes on the floor inside. Does anyone have any suggestions, as this is extremely frustrating.:animal-pa |
Have you tried crate training? |
Try giving the treat straight after and staying outside for a little longer to see if you get a second pee. |
We have a pen with a pee pee pad in it but he wont use it unless he's in the pen. |
I'll try that thank you |

My boys go more than 3 - 4 times a day. So do I. :D He should be able to last much longer than a hour, though. Usually they need to pee when they wake up (including from naps), after they eat, and after anything exciting like big playtime, or the doorbell ringing (if he goes nuts like my boys). Great advice to keep him outside longer. Going for daily walks might help too. I know it is hard in the heat. We have go early morning and very late evening. |
