I personally am tired of all the back and forth blame game. Had someone not called the foster mom (who's information was on the rescue website) we would not have learned the "personal" information about the dog not being fed correctly, having teeth problems, not having up to date shots, etc. Those who took the original post at face value and believed the rescue was doing wrong then began to doubt that because it was obvious the OP had been less than truthful about things. In the end the OP got what she wanted-her dog back. No one ran her off, it's obviously her style to post needing help and then not return to said post. I believe the rescue asked her to write a retraction and may have even worded it for her but I do not believe anyone forced or coerced her into posting said statement. Move on. The wreck has been cleared, no one was hurt and the end result is a happy ending. |
many people seem to think I had a hand in the dog getting returned, I just can't believe I did since it happened so quick after my phone call, but what the heck I can use a compliment at the moment so I will take it, Thanks:D but LOL I really don't believe I did I think I have said everything left to be said on this topic, I am worn out by it and need to move on, so I am bowing out. I hope that like someone else said that the vet was over zealous and Tiki will not need surgery. Good luck to the OP and Tiki, and thanks to Save A Yorkie for stepping up in time of need:thumbup: |

I too hope Tiki will not need surgery. Thank you Save a Yorkie for helping a dog and their human in a time of need. |

Your "Save A Yorkie" founder Marilyn Faughner (saymarilyn) has received nothing but help from Yorkie Talk members for over 6 years. As you can see from replies to her previous posts (which I will attempt to link below), YT members have been quick to help find homes for pups, transport, and support your events. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sea...=6588292&pp=25 |

Sheesh, I went out window shopping this afternoon. It's really hard to stay out of Joann stores...have you seen the deals they have going on?! Thanks Jeanie for putting so beautifully into words what my inept self neglected to say! I'm certainly glad that the pup will get the help he needs. Without Rescues that really care I'm afraid many pups would fall into the "wrong" hands when owners fall victim to life's circumstances. |

I stay in touch with people who surrender their pups until they no longer feel that need. There are many people who surrender their pups lovingly and I feel we owe them support. Of course we don't tell them who adopts their pup; but I do tell them all about the family and send pics as I get them as long as the adopter is ok with it. |

My son has an owner surrender .. he has had him for about 8 years now. I had that one when I was with another rescue. His previous owner still writes from time to time to check on him. A couple of years ago she sent me his puppy pictures for my son to have. :) |
my daughter has a female JRT that was a surrender/ the lady had to go to a rest home and none of the family wanted the dog and she is the most loving dog |
Go to your local tv and paper. Nothing changes peoples minds faster then bad press. The best of luck in getting your baby back! |
Sadly, the OP has not been back online since 7/18. I'm pretty certain she got her pup back though. Welcome to Yorkietalk! |
I haven't read though all of the pages here, just enough to say wow, this thread scares me. There are so many dogs in need of fostering and medical care. They simply can't take them all in. When someone demands that their dog be returned after surrendering them, that's time and resources diverted away from other dogs. What's to stop people from doing this all the time after a dog receives care? To accuse a rescue of STEALING a dog that you surrendered borders on libel to me. |
