Breeder e-mailed me-puppies born today My breeder that I was interested in buying a puppy from just e-mailed me. This is the yorkie that everyone kept saying was too small. 3 and half pounds. Her puppies were born today. 2 females and 1 male. So, I won't be getting a puppy from her. 1st female is going to her daughter, 2nd female is going to the lady who provided the stud. I would of taken the male even if I had my heart set on a female. But, he is sold as well. I am crying as I type this because I can't help it. I am very emotional. It is was just not meant to be. So I am going to continue my search. The previous breeder that we were going to go with called me today. (The one that lost both litter of puppies) We are first on her list for a female. She is breeding another one of her yorkies. If pregnancy takes, the puppies will be ready by April at the earliest. I don't know if I can stand to wait until April. But, there may be a local breeder here that we just never found out about yet. Or I can still talk to my dad about traveling a little further. I am NEVER going to give up hope about getting my little girl. She is out there somewhere. I have just not found her yet. Please no mean comments, please. |
I know that it feels like it is taking forever but you will find one and it will feel like it was meant to be. You will wonder how you ever considered any other dog. :) He or she is (or soon will be) out there waiting for you. |
(((HUG))) I have only be searching for a short while but its hard. Keep your chin up because your little girls is waiting somwhere for you and when you find here you will know! |
Sorry to hear about that! :( I hope you find a new baby soon! |
I am so sorry it didn't work out with that litter. I'm sure you will find a baby soon, and when you do finally get one it will be the perfect one for you! Hang in there. |
Darn I know you are dissapointed, but I am a firm believer in "all good things come to those who wait". Your baby is out there. She just hasn't found you yet! :D In the meantime, you have plenty of opportunity to visit here, research, and study, and get all supplied and prepared to raise your new puppy! :D |
Don't give up. She is out there, I am not giving up hope on finding my red female yorkie. It's been around 3 years now. I will not give up and will wait how ever long it takes to get her. Good things come to those who wait. Good luck with your search! |
I'm sorry things didn't workout. (((hugs to you))) Keep your chin-up ..that special little angel will come along...Sherry |
Well I am sorry for your news but April will be here before you know it. At least that is a guaranteed deal. I would wait for the pup. Spring is a great time to have a new puppy because you can take them outside to potty train. I got my female at the end of March and I thought was a good time to get a pup. I know you are anxious but if you just be patient it will be worth the wait. |
So sorry to hear your news. It must be devastating, but I always look at things this way when bad things happen. When God closes a door , he opens a window. I will be thinking of you and hoping it will work out ok. |

I would have been crushed as well. I'm so sorry. "An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but will never break." That is a Chinese proverb that most adoptive parents of China (one of whom is a best friend of mine). I believe this is true even for us who adopt our Yorkie babies. And it's true for you too. Hang in there. Your baby will be in your arms when he/she is meant to be. Trust in that. :) |
The reason I am scared to wait until April is this. This is the same breeder that left us hanging about the birth of the puppies for over 2 weeks. And when we called her only to find out both litters did not make it. She called us yesterday to say that she another litter born on Christmas Day. 2 females and 1 male. And she said that it was cold that night and she put a heating light to keep the puppies warm. She went to sleep and set her alarm to wake up in 1 hour to check on the puppies again. When she woke up, she found the heating light had went out. And the mama dog as natural instinct to keep her puppies warm, was laying on top of her puppies! They all smothered! She said she could not stop crying. To lose all 3 litters in 1 month has to be devastating! She is the sweetest lady my mom said. (she is the one that answered the phone because I was not home at the time) And she invited us to her home to see her yorkies anytime we want as long as we call first. So, I know she is telling the truth. She has a house full of Maltese puppies and offered us one. But, we have our heart set on a yorkie and my mom does not want 2 dogs right now. She said she is breeding another one of her yorkies and if pregnancy occurs, the babies will be ready by April. But, I am just scared we are going to go through the same thing again. Worried to death that the litter won't make it. She did have healthy litters before. Because I spoke to someone who is the proud owner of one of her yorkie babies from a litter last year. |
 :zip: :zip: |
Wow, sounds like a real winner of a breeder! Two litters die and then another dies from the mother smothering them? I would give up on this breeder cause she just sounds like she's in it for the money, not the love of the breed. Just my opinion. |

With that much that has happened with this breeder I think I would look for another breeder too. |

She lost three litters - and has a house full of Maltese - and keeps breeding -this definitely does not sound good to me. I know you're in a hurry to get a puppy - but perhaps you should slow down a little. It's far more important that you get a good little healthy puppy than a puppy real soon. Also - you do have a Yorkie now, don't you. Perhaps you can just continue to enjoy her more for a while until the right Yorkie shows up. Also - I think you are causing yourself a lot of unnecessary anguish being in such a hurry. Seems like you are crying through one disappointment after another - not good! I'll bet if you can gather together a little more patience -- you'll get the perfect little pup in time. I was also in a hurry to get mine and couldn't wait - I did look for a couple of months, but also bought the first little guy that I found available. And, did I ever luck out. He will probably be a little bigger than a lot of people would want, but he is a doll from heaven. 14-weeks old and a real handful right now. I was very fortunate and lucky to have gotten such a healthy delightful good-looking little guy. I thank my lucky stars every day. Maybe Yorkies are like a lot of things. There are none for a long time and then "boom," all of a sudden, there are more available. Hope this happens soon for you. Glad you stayed with YT - sounded like you were ready to give up. I think this site is filled with wonderful people who really love their little dogs. You shouldn't take any criticism personally. I think most of the criticism so far has been more directed at the breeders you have run across - not you! Have patience - and don't set yourself up for so much disappointment. It may take time, but you will eventually find the little dog you are looking for. Good luck - Carol Jean |
I got better news. The breeder whose yorkie just had puppies yesterday just e-mailed me again. She is breeding her male this week. She is breeding him with a friend of hers female yorkie. She gets pick of the litter. But, she is breeding him with a larger yorkie. So, 6 puppies she says may happen. So, I am still looking at April to getting a puppy. I told her to put me on the list again for a female just in case I don't find anything else beforehand. Her male is gorgeous. I see him already. He is maybe 3 pounds. But, he has the most gorgeous color. He is the sweetest thing. He will make some beautiful puppies. |
Sounds like you have a better chance at a puppy with this other person. Good Luck to you, I will say a prayer that all turns out ok |

To ever said that I already have a yorkie and enjoy her now, I DO NOT have yorkie right now. Sorry the only yorkie I ever owned was Lacey. And she died in June from kidney failure after having her for 13 and half years. I don't have any pets at all right now. And whoever is saying she is a real winner of a breeder, don't judge what you don't know. This woman is devastated. She NEVER lost 3 litters like that EVER. Nobody under the sun can watch the puppies 24/7. She went to sleep for 1 hour and that happened. What is she supposed to do NOT sleep at all EVER? The poor woman has been crying her eyes out for days and she even slept on the floor of her bathroom so she could be near her puppies. As far as the first two litters not making it, it was awful. And she spoke to the vet and thought she did something wrong. The vet assured her that she did nothing wrong. She is not breeding these two females again, she is getting them fixed. This woman does care about her dogs very much. I spoke to people who bought puppies from her. I am going to take the offer of going to her home and seeing her yorkies. Just because I am reconsidering buying a puppy from her, does not mean that I don't want to meet her dogs. I love yorkies and I would love to get a chance to see them. |
