What do you use for "short" / low profile toy bins? I'm always on the look out for toy bins that are the right size for yorkies. I want toy bins that have a really low lip so that they contain the toys, but so that the kiddos can still poke their noses in the bins and get their toys out. Does anyone use / have something like that? Everything I see...regular toy bins, dog toy bins, wicker baskets etc are just too high for them to get into. What does everyone use? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? |
No need here. If princess can't reach she just jumps in. |
I use those plastic storage bins you can get from Target....the ones that you can slide under the bed.....I got real industrious and cut out TONS of Yorkie pics from all the old calendars I had saved (pack rat in me, plus a history of what happened in any given year!) and I decopaged (sp!!) them onto the bin....all around the sides that you see....this bin is about 5 inches deep, so my babies can reach inside of it, but it is also maybe 32 inches long and 22 inches wide.....it turned out pretty cute, I thought, and it works very well for us! |

Try The Container Store, or Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I have seem them at both places. |
I use a copper plant holder thing its rectangle but the ends are rounded. It is good for the favorite toys and I store the nonfavorites and just bring them out every now and then |
I use a flat doggie bed/mat with a lip all around it so she can't hurt herself poking around for her toys. |
1 Attachment(s) I use their old beds...since I can't throw anything out.:p It's easy for them to get the toys & sometimes Princess likes sunning in it! (old pic)Attachment 389052 |
I'm thinking about buying a plastic dog bed (similar to the one pictured below) for Pebbles' toys so she can easily choose the toys she wants. She doesn't like her current toy box, it's a bit too high - she paws at it and complains until I tip all the toys out for her. Marchioro Perla Plastic Dog Bed |

We have a Victorian beach hut theme going on upstairs....so I use a kind of nautical flat-bottomed blue + white striped low-edged beach bag (how descriptive is that?!!!!!? :p) for Harry's toys - he can just nose the side down and pick out what he wants.....:) It would have been easier to post a piccie.... Sally + Harry x |
the stackables at walmart are perfect. One side is open. Unfort Jess has zero interest in toys so its kind of moot.. |

We keep our toys in doggy tents from Target. After 4 years, I still giggle watching the boys dive into their tents and come out with a toy. |
I had a problem finding toy boxes that Callie could reach into with out hitting her trachea and then coughing. When I was in Michael's craft store I found some baskets that where rectangles and has pretty short edge they even had three in different sizes so I got one for Callie's balls, one for chews/treat stick, then one for all other toys. My Uncle and Aunts 5 pound dog was able to reach in them with no problem. I could never find anything made for dogs that was short enough. |
