San Diego PASSES PET STORE BAN! This sounds too good to be true: Pet Store Ban Passed in San Diego | NBC 7 San Diego I wasn't aware this was happening at all. It seems like an enormous leap in the right direction. Am I missing something? It just sounds too good to be true to me. |
It does seem like a step in the right direction to me. I actually spoke out loud when I read this statement: "This has got to stop. This movement of accusing every single breeder having pet stores as puppy mills is absolutely ridiculous," said David Salinas of San Diego Puppy Inc. Source: Pet Store Ban Passed in San Diego | NBC 7 San Diego What I said out loud was They ARE SO! I think it also may be true that more BYBs should be stopped but that battle will take an army. I've learned a lot here on YT & one of the things I really believe in is breeders who breed only to have puppies are indeed BYBs or worse, puppymills. I don't really care how fancy a home the dogs live in, how much "good" they think they're doing by offering pups to people at low costs, or anything else I've heard as excuses. |
Yes, it's true. It was passed yesterday. What the pet store owner said was that now people will just buy puppies off the Internet or Craig's list instead of his pre-approved breeders. Bull you know what. I'm thrilled. |
Isn't it wonderful??? I've been watching this case....I'm so excited.... |

I actually think that pushing people to buy online is better. Because...once a person starts the process of researching WHERE to buy, they're more likely to come across information about BYBers & puppy mills. Hopefully anyway. I'm so thrilled to know that this is actually happening! That means there's hope. Next step...getting laws passed for internet sales. |
That's awesome! Hopefully it will catch on quickly in other towns...states...D.C.! |
:cheer::cheer:Way to go San Diego:cheer::cheer: |

I think impulse buying is not for sure dead in the water because there is a ban on pet stores, even if it were throughout the country. We too have a few cities here in Canada with a ban on petstores selling dogs/cats. I do believe it is a step in the right direction. But banning internet sales is a whole nother proposition, and a much iffier one. |
A victory is a victory...however small, this IS a giant step in the right direction! Go Sandiego... |

I saw this earlier today and was very excited. Would like to see it happen nationwide. |
This is amazing. I hope that all cities and states follow suit |
One small step is better than NO steps! |
