Where did you get your yorkie? Do they have a FB/site? On another forum I saw this question as a sticky and it was super helpful. Needless to say Im on team yorkie. My question is for those especially who bought a puppy recently and knows if that breeder has any puppies currently. I'm currently narrowing down my choices and I want to make them sooner than later. Anyone can post if they like, name of breeder, experience (including pets health,) location, shipped or picked up, website/FB, and cost (if you wish to include that.) Thanks. |
Sorry you aren't getting any replies. I don't have an answer for you, either. I, unfortunately, didn't do my research ahead of time like you are doing. I'm very happy that you are doing this. I'm sure someone will come along, but I only know about 3 breeders I would recommend at the moment (still searching, myself..for that 2nd one in the future :D ). They do have websites..not sure about FB. You can google them and find them (they are not really close to NY, but I know some ship and some have you fly in a pick up). Google these: TyAva (they are in GA - Atlanta area), Rosehill (this is Yorkiemom1 here on the forum..Judy), and Amazing Yorkies (this is same as forum screen name - Amazing Yorkies...Deb). Maybe try to talk to them personally via phone or email. Even if you can't find the Yorkie meant for you with them, they would have a recommendation of a breeder in your area. Happy hunting! :) |
Thank you. I'm not worried about slow responses, some will post eventually. 😊 I am open to traveling or shipping if they do ship. Thanks again. |
Sending you a PM girlie... |
I just sent you a PM about where I got the girl in my avatar pic, her name is Gina. Cheers Quad:aimeeyork |
Have you checked out the YTCA website? YTCA.org I got my Marcel from a YTCA breeder (he's my avatar). |
Hi I am not sure if I can help you but maybe i can give you a guideline of what I do. FIrst, I do not ship. I must meet the prospective owner before I agree to a sale. I have an application on my website for the enquirer to complete. I follow up with phone interview. If the person lives a distance away, they must fly or drive to me to meet me, the pup, the parents of the pup etc. I am willing to pick up the prospective owner at airports. I do not advertise on Facebook and won't. On my website I sometimes list a puppy or older dog if I have one for sale. I must interview before I agree to that sale. I do not take deposits until the prospective owner is approved as a suitable new home. I do not take credit cards or paypal. My website provides a lot of information about my dogs, puppies, Yorkies in general. I answer any questions and expect to be asked questions by any prospective new owner. My dogs and puppies I have available for a new home are not a commodity. They are living beings requiring good care and now with the costs of Vet bills and ordinary Vet services, I must ensure whoever buys a puppy will take care of those things especially dentals, a common problem in toy breeds. Bottom line, I need to sleep nights and I can't do that if I worry about whether or not a puppy I sold got a good home. I need to be very certain I have made the right decision. |

I have already, thanks. |
I hear that there are some very good YTCA members in the tri-state area, but I would still check each one of them out thoroughly. I believe they will recommend another breeder if they don't have puppies available. My dear friend, Gail (Gemy), knew that our breeder was considering retiring Katie from breeding, and she calls it serendipity that, at the very same time, I considered getting a little older dog, Katie might have been available. Katie had just turned three years old, and I had heard so many wonderful things about her breeder. That's why I went with a breeder in Canada. Gail, someone I trust implicitly who has high standards and ethics, spoke so highly of her, and I instantly fell in love with Katie. This is Katie's page on my breeder's website. She is CH Rigair Yabba Dabba Doo (Kate). I could not say enough wonderful things about her. She exemplifies what it means to breed for all of the right reasons, and she is honorable, loving, and very talented as a breeder and trainer. When it's time to find a sister for Katie, I hope to get another Rigair baby. Buying a pup from a reputable breeder makes all the difference in the world. CH Rigair Yabba Dabba Doo (Kate) |
I got my beautiful Hailey from Susan Hertz of Let's Talk Yorkie. She's on Long Island and has a website AKC Yorkie breeder NY | Yorkshire Terrier breeder | Yorkie puppies for sale NY She's an awesome breeder.....I highly recommend her! |
