Do you think one Yorkie is enough? I've had Zoey for 5yrs now, and I've really been thinking about getting another one. They're like potato chips, one is not enough for me lol. However, my family wants to get a golden retriever...so I'm really at a hault right now trying to decide between a Yorkie or a Golden Retriever. We had a golden retriever for 13 yrs, but last year we had to put him to sleep. I love both breeds. How do I decide? |
Nope. Okay, that was my reply to your title. lol Now to reply to what you wrote... Nope. Get a Yorkie. You can't have just one. I'm counting the days when I can get another one! :) With that said, I love Goldens. Very much. I think you just have to think about it really well and decide for yourself..go with your heart :) |
Two yorkies together are wonderful they are best buddies and really look out for each other. Sometimes when you have one yorkie that has been the only one for awhile it takes a bit for them to warm up to each other and they might even act like they dispise each other at first so allow about a month for them to get used to eaach other |

I have make and female and they love each other so much. We did get them two months apart. Jada was 2 1/2 when we adopted her and bogie was 7 months old. I have friends who have two females and they get along great too. I guess it's just the luck of the draw. |
Can never have just one beautiful, awesome, sweet, joyful little cuddle buddy. So I have four !! Ages: 11, almost 9, 7 and almost 4 |
For me, I'm sticking with one. I just feel like I owe my one yorkie my time, and don't want to split it. |
My 2 girls are inseparable. Dolly is the most socialized dog you'll ever meet so when wild, untamed, 2 year old Teena showed up Dolly welcomed her into our home shared, & taught her her manners. Now who on a Yorkie forum would recommend your second dog to be a Golden? LOL. I wouldn't be able to tolerate the shedding. Good luck with your choice. |
I spend all of my time and money just keeping up with Tibbe and his needs and wants! But if you can manage all aspect of a second dog and you think your baby will accept another dog without problems, why not? Most dogs seem to just love having another dog around but once in a while not so much. |
I know! Get another Yorkie AND a Golden!:D Just kidding, good luck with your decision!:) |
Before I got my 2nd I had to honestly ask myself, if they were both to get sick at the same time and both required extensive vet visits and life saving surgeries, would I be able to give them all the proper care they deserve? I say if you have the fincancial stability and the time in your day to devote to two dogs, then go for it! They are so fun to watch as the bond grows, the older accepts the newcomer and they become inseperable. P.s. mine are both girls. They are doing great so far but they are full blooded sisters through and through :D |
Two is better they play and have so much fun together and they are very entertaining to watch |
I have four yorkies. Two males and Two females. I had the females first (they are sisters) then we decided to get the males when we lost our Pekingese about three months later. They were iffy about each other for about a month, now the females just beat up on the males all day. they're lost without each other. |
