Scheduled Sophie's Spay Well, it's that time. I scheduled Sophie's appt. today for next Tursday. Poor baby. I'm just dreading putting her through all that stress and discomfort. I hope the days go slow next week.:( |
I understand dreading the big day, but it will soon be behind you. Best wishes for Sophie. |
It's great that you scheduled it. She will be happier in the end. I'm sure she will do great! Keep us updated when she goes in. |
It is wonderful that it is scheduled. We went through it last week. Sending good thoughts for Sophie and please keep us updated when she goes in. |
Thanks for all of your understanding. I'm sure ill be a basket case by Thursday. |
I will be thinking about you guys on Thursday. It will be good to just have that day be over with. I know I'll be a nervous wreck the day my baby goes in too. |
I was nervous with my boys but this is just ridiculous how scared I am for my girl. |
I know how you feel I think we all worry about our fur kids when they go through any surgery. I am sure she will be fine bc we all will be praying for her. She will be back to herself soon after the surgery and it will all be behind you:) |
:) Mine was spayed 2 weeks ago and came through it fine. I was really worried , but there's been so many others that have been spayed in this last month that it helped me stay calm, reading about how well they did. The surgery is scary, for you and her. Remember this vet has done it before to hundreds of dogs. And you trust the vet ( I hope!) so she's in good hands. The worst part was getting the stiches out. Mine wiggled so much that it took 2 people to hold her down (really 3 if you count me keeping her head still) to get the last 2 out- she had 5 all together...LOL! She's an XXXS sized yorkie, but strong as a pitbull when it comes to having stitches removed. :) |
How long before they take the stitches out? |
Lexi was spayed yesterday and her stitches will be removed on the 17th. She's coming through it like an angel! I even had to put her to bed because she was starting to play too rough! I know there's nothing I can say to calm your nerves, but the time in surgery really does go fast. It wasn't very long before I got the call that she was out of surgery and waking up. Just keep telling yourself that she's so blessed to have a Mommy that does what's best for her...even when it's not easy. |
Do they ever use the dissolving stitches so they don't have to go back for another scare? |
What is the best age to have a puppy spayed? My Maggie is almost 5 months old and I need to know the best time to schedule it. |
All of my girls were stitched from the inside and glued on the outside. I know this is scary for you, but Sophie is going to be okay. I just never got used to anesthesia even though my Rainbow Bridge babies had yearly dentals. Even with an enlarged heart, my Ashley did fine having anesthesia when she had an infection at the age of sixteen. To limit biting an incision, many people here have recommended baby onesies put on backwards, so that the tail comes out of the snap area. I'd also recommend a soft cone like the ones YT member Mom To Hotrods sells. I pasted a link to her website, and she gives YT members a discount. My thoughts will be with you and Sophie on the day of her spay. I hope she has a very speedy recovery. The Kiss-E Collar http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/pri...=newpm&u=26566 |
