Lexi's Getting Spayed Friday Lexi's spay is scheduled for Friday. I'm supposed to drop her off between 7:00 and 8:30. I took off from work Friday and Monday so I could be home with her for a few days. If necessary, I'll stay home a few more days. I made sure she's getting blood work before the spay. The vet normally keeps them overnight, but no one stays at the vet overnight. I asked and was told I could bring her home the same day if I wanted, so of course, she coming home. I'm also going to pick up some onesies today. Please pray for my sweet little girl. And, if I forgot anything, please let me know. I don't like this at all! :( |
Sounds like you have your bases covered. Praying for Lexi :) |
Praying for Lexi. My Molly got spayed today, along with 2 baby teeth pulled and microchipping. I can't wait to pick her up after work. I took Friday off and tomorrow is a holiday for me so I get to spoil her for 4 long days :D |
I am sure Lexi will do great. It is good that you are staying home with her. My two never needed to wear cones because they didn't lick their incisions, so as long as you are watching her... it should be fine. I think the onesies will be perfect. Keep us updated! |

Aww everything will be okay! My little girl just got spayed almost 2 weeks ago. She gets the stitches out on Monday. I was soo nervous as she is only 2 pounds. They did the blood work, her rabies shot, spay, and 2 teeth pulled. Keep us updated on how she does :) |
Awww it's only natural to worry (((HUGS))) I've always tried to get my girls spayed on my day off from work as I'm no use nor ornament AT work as my mind is niggling away at me and worrying myself into a tizz :( I was a tearful mess in April 2012 when our 17 year old cat had to have an eye removed.....HOW my till (I work in a shop) was ok at the end of the day I'll never know  You're doing the best thing for her though and within a couple of days she'll be bouncing around as normal :) |
I just dropped her off. Was crying as they took her. So silly!! They will call me when she's out. I'm staying busy until then. I'll go shopping for her. Shopping fixes everything...:( |
Prayers going out for Lexi's surgery. |
Will be praying for Lexi |
I hope Lexi does well in surgery and has a speedy recovery! :) |
It's not silly at all to cry or worry. You've done everything possible to ensure that she does well with her spay, but I know how you feel. I never got use to my babies having to have anesthesia, even though they had yearly dentals. I will be thinking about you and your little girl, and I hope that Lexi recovers quickly and is soon free from pain. I would make sure that they give her painkillers to have when you take her home. |
Prayers for you and Lexi |
Thanks so much for all of your prayers. Lexi's out of surgery and just waking up. She didn't need any teeth removed. I knew she wouldn't because her teeth were droppng like flies about a month ago. Of course, I saved the ones I could find. Now part 2. If she so much as blinks her eyes too long I'll buckle over thinking shes in pain. I'm picking her up at 6... With pain meds. |
Praying for a quick and healthy recovery :hands: |
So glad to see her surgery went well and no teeth removed!!! :) Praying she will not be in too much pain and will get well quick. |
Yeah so glad that her surgery went well. I know you will be happy to have her back home. Glad that you are getting the pain med's. |
Well, we've had a rough couple of days. Yesterday evening when we got home she was soooo pitiful! She didn't even look like herself. Her poor little ears were down, which never happens and her eyes were so watery. Instead of shopping, I should have been home making her some boiled chicken and rice. So, I opened a can of wet food, which she's never had before, mixed it with her kibble and she ate and drank some water. The vet said she didn't really eat while she was there so I was happy that she ate. She normally coos like a baby when you pick her up and kiss her. It's the sweetest little sound I've ever heard. But, last night she had the most pitiful little cooing noise. She's usually a foot sleeper, but last night she snuggled under me all night. I gave her her pain med this morning at 5:30. She's been uncomfortable all day so I stayed in bed with her to keep her still. About an hour ago, I took her to her potty pad. When she finished, she bounced away, with her usual bouncy Westminster walk! I sat on the floor with her and she came over and started biting my fingers! I'm keeping her quiet, but.....she's got her puppy eyes back!!!:):):):) |
Oh my gosh! That just breaks my heart. Poor little baby. Im so glad she seems back to her self today. Mine goes in next Thursday. I'm just dreading it for her. |
Molly had that same pitiful look and she whined (which I had never heard). It took her till Friday to get back to her normal self and it has been very hard to keep her still. Vet said no running or jumping for 14 days. Good luck to me - every chance she gets she's trying to chase the cat and jump off the couch. When I put her in her crate in the living room so she can be with us she just whines and barks. I hate it but when I put her in her ex-pen she jumps to try to get out. I don't know how I'm gonna last 14 days. She hasn't licked her incision yet so I haven't had to put her in her onsies yet, but I think when it starts to heal more and itches she'll start licking. She is on antibiotics too for her teeth that they pulled - had to put stitches in cuz the gums tore a bit when they pulled teeth. i hope Lexi is feeling better today too!!! |
