I think Rufus is part wolf :D A couple of days ago I saw a episode about wolfs and hybrids. Apparently wolfs great each other by smelling each other's mouth. Every time Rufus is next to me, the first thing he does is smell my face/mouth :D When I saw the episode I started laughing! And told my BF that Rufus has wolf in him :D He didn't find it as funny as I did.. |
Very funny. Did you just eat something yummy? |
I guess so :D He does it all the time, even if I didn't eat anything :D If he's sitting next to me, he'll smell my face several times..and I just let him :D |
My Enzo does that too! He is not a licker or a kisser, but he greets me with his snout sniffing my mouth :) I'm not sure if he's checking what I just ate, or letting me know I need a stick of gum! ;) |
Jack does this too and he also sniffs our eyes - kind of weird but whatever, I love it! I was of the impression that all dogs are descendents of wolves, so this is probably something that has been passed down over the years. Very interesting though - I always thought Jack was just a little strange in sniffing our faces. |
Jasper does the same thing. He even throws in puppy kisses. :p Out Rat Terrier smells my mouth, too. No kisses from her, except after SHE eats. I wonder what that means? |
We all have little wolfs at home :D |
My Sophie does this too. After she sniffs she wants to lick my eye lids. What the heck is up with that? |
Lol! Henri does this too, whenever I pick him up he has to smell my mouth. I guess that means Yorkies are part wolf!:D |

If I'm holding Bentley and I turn my face away, he will actually grab my bottom lip with his teeth and turn my head to face him. And then, let the kisses begin. |
