Brushing Woohoo!!! Lexi finally likes to be brushed!!! After buying numerous grooming tools I finally tried my husband's brush and she loves it!! Go figure! It is called "The Wet Brush" and it's very soft and has rubber coated tips and is specifically made to brush through tangles. I ran out and bought the smaller version for her. :D |
I never thought to try a human brush! I'm going to get 1 and try. Mine hates her grooming tools. To brush her, I let het bite at 1 she really REALLY hates so I can brush her with another. LOL! Thanks for the suggestion! |
A trainer once told me to make the brush her friend. I said what am I supposed to do-tape Cheerios on the handle!!! LOL |
Lol...Bella hates brushes. |

This wet brush has balls @ the end of the pins? It's not good to use those kind of brushes...the hair can get snagged between the ball & the pin & cause more damage. Plus the ball @ the end prevents brushing to the skin & causes more tangles in the long run. The Madan pin brushes I sell have no balls @ the end of the pins, but the pin tips are beveled, so if you run it up & down your arms, it doesn't leave scratch marks & it doesn't hurt. The pins also penetrate the hair to the skin, so you're brushing thoroughly, preventing tangles. Kristin (Maximo) also sells the wood pin brushes & #1 All Systems pin brushes, all w/no balls @ the end. |
I do have the soft madan brush and have really have tried all brushes on her. Her hair is not super long (puppy cut) so the wet brush does work on her and most of all she is happy (and doesn't try to btie!!). |

I think half the battle is finding a brush they like. I have a maden and a CC wooden pin brush |

I never brush a dog until I have gone through the hair with a good metal grooming comb. Once any tangles are out I use the brush. The comb is just better at getting those tangles out without having to tug at the fur or break the hair. |
Good advice! Maybe one day Lexi will let me use a comb and a brush too!! |
