NJ/PA/CT/NY area Yorkie owners can you post pictures of your doggies? Since the regional section is pretty dead I'd figure I will post here. So I contacted a few breeders from the referral site and I have heard from a few. Still have like ten to fifteen to email. One doesn't have a girl and the others aren't expecting. Still waiting to hear from some. Since I really have no clue as to how their puppies and parents look like I figured I'd have an idea while I wait to hear back from them, with the help of my "neighbors." I have a particular look I'm searching for. Short nozzle, silky hair, preferably blue and tan, and about six pounds. Anyone have adults/puppies that resemble that from a local breeder? If so can you tell me which breeder you got them from? |
Sense you have certain particular things you are looking for and you can't always guarantee you will get that with puppies have you thought of looking at dogs a little older? |
It depends on how short of a muzzle you are looking for, but if its just a little short, a lot of the pups in the show ring fit your description. Is it possible for you to attend any dog shows to meet some breeders? I met one of my dear YY friends at the NY Yorkie Specialty, and it was wonderful. I can't emphasize enough not going to any pet stores for a puppy. A lot of people have gone to puppy boutiques in your area and have got unhealthy dogs plus the fact that they don't come from reputable breeders and most likely puppy mills. From what I've heard, there are some good show breeders in the tristate area. Katie came from a Canadian show breeder who also does a great deal of training with her dogs. She shows in conformation and obedience and does agility with her pups. Katie's disposition is amazing, and she and her sire and dam had all of the important health testing. Most YTCA members will recommend another breeder to you if they don't have pups. Good luck in your search. If you are patient and do your research, the rewards will be immeasurable. |

— Ohio Yorkie Rescue — ADOPTIONS —*RescueMe.Org I looked on this site- it's Ohio, but theres a little guy named Konner on. Maybe he would be ok? He's adorable! You can use that link to check out rescues in other states too. Maybe there's a girl Konner near you that you haven't heard about yet. :) |

Having a certain look in mind and within a limited area, will make your search longer. Take your time and watch for red flags. |
I'm in no rush. Still saving up. |
1 Attachment(s) My Max was from Annie in Staten Island she also owns Lil' Annie's Pet Spa on Victory Blvd. She still breeds pups and our Max was virtually completely healthy ALL of his life. He was estimated to be 8lbs full grown (his parents were 6lbs and 8lbs) but he was an eater and stayed at a 9 or 10lb range lol. He lived a happy 13 and a half years, no leg issues, eye issues, etc. He was my best friend and best first pup I could have ever asked for. Attachment 388503 She didn't have any available back in March when I inquired after Max's passing but had told me that she was expecting litters later in the year (asked us to call her around July for a better idea of when). Instead, she recommended another breeder who had puppies on SI via Happy Paws, which is where I got my Jack. If you'd like any more further info on Annie, I'd be happy to tell you my experience with her, and my Max. |
Thanks for the info. I will go check it out |
