I bathe twice a week but only because Miley has a UTI and tends to get smelly quicker. Before her UTI it was just once a week with Isle of Dogs. Now I use Espree and I LOVE it. |
We bathe once a week, and do partial body washes in between when necessary. If you use mild products formulated for pets, and your dog has healthy skin, you don't need to worry about over doing it. |
I was doing it weekly but my 2 girls have flaky skin, so I cut back to every 2 weeks. Of course, if they roll in something nasty or walk through a mud puddle, they get a bath right away! :) My 2 princesses would never do something like that!!!! |
I normally bathe them once a week. But Barney has to stay dry until the stitches from his dew claw removals are taken out. So, my two stinky dogs will get a bath this Friday! Until then, I've used a lot of air freshener around the house:). |
Blazer get his bath and has his nails trimmed every Friday. :) |

I also had the same question about bathing as I've never had small dogs before that I can actually bathe in my sink...so I was glad to see this post! |
Mine go to the groomer every week for their bath's and any trim up's that need to be done (nails, booty, hair in the paw pad's) I brush them at least twice a day using a grooming spay. |

every 7-10 days for shorter coated dogs, every 5-7 days for long coats. |
Twice a week with Yorkie Splash and Shine. I would do it only on Sundays (once a week) but by Wednesday, my allergies are going bonkers. A quick bath and my baby can hang out with me again. :) |
Oscar is 16 weeks and so far hates bath time... Any tips? I am hoping that with time it gets better! We would like to bathe weekly so far evry ten to twelve days because he hates it!! Thanks |

You could also try making it fun with toys or treats. Some doggies just hate bath time. |

Twice a week here. We tried once a week, but that was too long in between for those of us in the house with allergies. I was concerned at first that frequent bathing might cause Abby to have dry skin, but we use a mild oatmeal shampoo and conditioner and she's had no problems with it. |
thanks everyone so much |
Oh dear, you all are really good at taking care of your dogs. We don't wash that often but brush daily. While doing that I try to clip a paw at a time. Trying to do all four at a sitting is too much for them. We wash faces and clean teeth always. One of my girls has teary eyes and she needs special attention. I also try to keep their beards clipped so they don't get food down their fronts. Keeping them neat is an onging job. |
I bathe mine once a week or he gets a little stinky. I use Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo via vet instructions. It is the only thing that doesn't give him dry skin...and smells like a baby :) haha |
I wash him once a week and do spot cleaning when needed. I brush him everyday |
Wow! You guys bathe a lot. Lilly only gets a bath once a month or every two months, at the groomers mostly. She just doesn't seem dirty and she doesn't smell, so I don't. |
I bathe all four of mine weekly, usually on Sunday, which is also the day I change sheets. It's so nice to start out all fresh on Sunday. |
