She's a cutie, and she looks all Yorkie to me. You have to remember that Yorkies come in all sizes that they are not all dread down to the smallest or for standards. Plus their heritage of larger dogs breed many years ago in order to get a Yorkies can come back in the line and produce a larger Yorkie at any time. My girl who is all Yorkie from two non standard Yorkie parent is 18 lbs. |
In doing some research I read that Yorkshire Terriers were initially bred as 20 pound rat hunting dogs. So maybe some genes got expressed from generations ago in her bloodline? Full yorkie or not (and she looks yorkie to my untrained eye), she is definitely a beauty. But wow, she's only 10 lbs? She looks so much bigger than your 6 lb little guy. |

Mine is 13lbs and I just rescued him last Friday :-) Congrats and feel good you just saved a life :-) He definitely is full Yorkie and is built a lot like your girl. The coloring may be different, but can't they be more bluish anyway? Just give her extra love, she probably needs it after her experience. |
Hello and welcome to yt. She is a cutie |

Shes cute and looks like a yorkie. They come in all sizes |
welcome to YT. she looks like a yorkie to me |
She is a very cute little girl. It's hard to say what she is. She certainly looks very Yorkieish. People who breed off standard dogs often produce pups that do not look much like the original. Purebreds do not maintain their characteristics when not bred properly. That may be why she does not look like a traditional Yorkie. The genetics of purebred breeding can be quite complex. The rescue may not even be sure of you little girl's background. She obviously has quite a bit of terrier in her. Give her lots of love and enjoy the fact that you have given her a new and better life. |

Awe she is a cutie, she looks like a lighter version of my Guiney. |
She looks a lot like my Pixi. Pixi is a little over 5 months old and I am sure she weighs my than my traditional looking Yourkie, who is 5.6 lbs. |
She's a cutie! She looks purebred to me :) |
