I made my own Fundle!

I didn't want to pay $120 for it so I tried to figure it out and made one.....no, I'm not selling them. It was a pain.....
We will be "cool" in South Beach next month!
Feeling accomplishment :)

Hey you selling those??? :) Where'd you get the pattern? I need to get a sling. Time to hike and when Moki is tires I need to carry him on the big hikes. But I need on to look...manly. If thats possible while caring a Yorkie?? Just the ones Isee I don't like to color and I need to make it cool..or not make me Hot

Very nice job. I made a carrier (not a sling) without a pattern and that was not fun. But it works, saved some $$$ and it is one of a kind. Yours looks much fancier.

Nice bag! You did a great job making it!!:thumbup: 1 question, did you put a clip in it to attach to the harness so your pup can't jump out?

This is great and looks just like the Fundle. I hear you on making carriers -- lots of work.

I would love/hate to make another one. I'm not even sure how much this one cost me to put together. Surely much cheaper than the Fundle one! If I did it over again it would be better because I learned from the first one. I didn't have a pattern, I just winged it and made one from poster board that I followed loosely. Thanks for the compliments!

No, I didn't but I plan on having his leash on him attached to me somehow so he can't get away if he jumped out. I was worried he could strangle himself on a short tether.

If you use a harness on him, and attached that to a tether it should keep him in. The leash will work too. I was worried about him jumping out and running off. Glad you thought of it. :)

And Mike was teasing about making a bag- he's the YT jokester- LOL!

I bought the fabric at Hobby Lobby. It was scrap I had left over from a purse i made and now he matches me!
The bottom is black canvas and some kind of plastic? netting. I used interfacing to strengthen it and put small wooden dowels across the top part so it wouldn't collapse when I put him in it. It was fun.....I think, lol

IMO I would put a tether. The pup make jum when you don't expected it and it could be to high for them. It couldn't hurt. That part would be easy to sew on :)

Just so ya know.....I put a tether in from an old car carrier and now it attaches on both sides! I can't wait to take him out in it later today :)

You did a really good job. It looks professional.

I love The Fundle carrier. It is the most comfortable of all the carriers I have for Gracie. She lays right down in it. It doesn't put as much pressure on my shoulder as the other bags I have do. I do have arthritis in both shoulders so it an important feature for me.

Gracie is totally unseen when I zip the cover over the top of the bag and she has plenty of room so she is not squashed down. It's really nice for when we go to various fairs and events during the summer. When she gets tired of walking or if we are some place where the ground is hot, up she goes into the bag and is safe and comfortable.

I hope your guy enjoys it as much as Gracie does. I don't sew so the money was well spent for us. The comfort is really important to both of us.
