Be careful about these traps We've had a mouse problem and my idiot brother set out glue traps, despite me telling him no. Our Yorkie got stuck on it and he tore some skin off one of his paw pads. :( I was really frustrated and angry. Glue traps are trouble for any curious dog. Not to mention the fact that they are an evil device that should be outlawed - I once saw a mouse on these things with bits of its skin torn off and in the middle of chewing its own leg off. And to think some people throw them out in the garbage, alive, in such a condition. Disgraceful. Thank goodness it was just a minor tear for our dog, a bit of antiseptic ointment and a clean did the job. I shudder to think if he put his snout directly on it, my dog could suffocate! Glue traps - inhumane, sadistic devices that torment anything caught on them. Please do not use them. |

OBTW, Welcome to YT! And thanks for starting out with such a thought-provoking post! Looking forward to seeing pics of your furbaby, and what is his name? |
My cousin had used them one time....thought they were more humane than the snap-traps that break their necks/backs, killing them. We were watching TV, and a mouse ran onto one of those glue traps....when we went to the drawer and got the pad out with that poor little mouse stuck on that awful pad, I went nuts, started squalling and bawling for the poor little mouse.....I agree, they should be banned....WHERE IS PETA!!!??? Poor little mouse, screaming and squeeking.....never in MY home! |
Ok I am a bad guy, because we use them here to catch brown recluse spiders. It is the absolute only way to get rid of them. I put them under things like dressers etc. Lola once got her paw caught on one all we had to do was cut it away and then soak her paw in warm soapy water to get it to loosen up. |

This is a little off topic but wanted to share... When I had Piccolo in the ER a few weeks ago, a couple brought in their dog that had eaten a sticky ant/mouse trap. They even had most of the pieces. (I guess ERs see the weirdest things.) Anyway, since I was listening, I did find out that there is no poison on these traps. The docs did not even charge this couple for the info, which I thought was generous. I do agree with everyone else, I would not use them. They seem inhumane to me. |

ok... I was bitten by a brown recluse one time. Kill them all I say!!!! That is a use that I would agree to 100% I posted that I hated the traps becasue they are cruel to the mice. We used them once.. and I really had a very hard time seeing the mouse. Maybe because I had pet hamsters as a child .. they has to be a better way. |
JamesBray- I hope your baby is OK!! |
Welcome to YT. I hope your boy's paw has healed up nicely. Post a picture of him when you can. We'd love to see him! |
I hope he continues to heal up |
Vegetable oil, cooking spray, or corn starch can be used to make it so you can remove mouse or dog from the sticky trap. |
Hello and welcome to YT. Sorry to hear about your pup. I hope he is healing up well |
