How do you protect your babies from the sun?
 
Hi everyone. Since Wallee insists on laying in the sun and my neighbors cat died from skin cancer I was wondering what you do to protect their skin from the sun? I know his Chris Christensen detangling spray has some sun screen in it but not sure if it's enough.

sunscreen they make it just for dogs...

yeah...and the owners are a couple of drunks. We kept telling them from the start when we noticed the black on the tips of his ears that he looked like he was getting skin cancer. He was a very friendly white cat and they just ignored our advice. The woman kept putting polysporin on the open sores that would not heal. Poor thing probably died a slow and terrible death. He died over the winter last year.
So I guess I am super paranoid since Wallee has white hair and he just got so much of if shaved off. :cool:

That is interesting that the cat was white. I dont worry about skin cancer because mine are just not outside much thats why I asked

White cats are more prone to it and the idiots used to let him lay in the baking sun for hours on days it was so hot out

I use the epi pet sunscreen on curri and another brand that escapes me right now. AAHA approved. They also both wear rashguards in the sun and pool. Curri is a Biewer with pink skin so I am especially careful with her!

I had Mina in the pool the other day and was wondering the same thing.

2 of our rashguards are made by bodyglove and 2 are infant rashguards

Honestly never thought about it. He's never seemed to be uncomfortable or get burnt or anything.... and he spends lots of time outdoors by the pool.

I havè thought of I.t. Sunscreen I use plush puppy. Favors Yorkies you can purty on a light weapon jacket. Do paws and earsq anD tai.ls

Curri is light hair and skin. She needs to be protected more than sugar who is Black and Tan.

Infant 0-3 month rashguards fit them well.

Our dogs hate to go outside in the heat. We only keep them out about 5 minutes at a time and they mostly hide in the shade. Our cats love to sun bathe but they do it in the sunroom and when they get warm enough they go into the ac.
