Need advice please Yesterday I saw a wonderful mail Yorkie Poo puppy. His mother is a calm, submissive poodle, but I have not seen the father. This puppy seems laid back and calm. I hope he will remain that way. He's been raised with a man-peopled human family which includes children. The last time I raised a puppy was over ten years ago. Should I get this puppy? He looks more yorkie than poodle and has wavy poodle hair. Thanks. |
I wouldn't most people who breed mixes do not do the health testing that should be done or know the lines of the dogs they are breeding to know if they have genetic illnesses in them. The pup could look totally healthy but not have a genetic illness pop up until 1 or 2 years old. It can cost you a lot of heartbreak and money. |
Did you visit mom and pup in home environment and I would see dad. I personally love the mixed breeds, you need to research both breeds to see if you like both since you don't know which bits of the breed the pup will have. Also mixed breeds should not cost as much as pure since you are buying a mutt. Take everything into consideration before purchasing. |
I saw mom I just saw Mom and pup. The human family was friendly. In the past I had a pedigreed pup, but he was a challenge. I was hoping this yorkie poo would have the desirable traits of both the yorkie and poodle. |
Go for it! I have a yorkie poo. She's 2/3's yorkie and 1/3 Poodle. She has the curly hair. She is the love of my life. She Did have some health issues her first year...ended up being food allergies. She'll be five in August and is healthy. You never know what problems you may run in to even if you know their family history. I'd say, go for it....I had no pet for 15 years when I got her. SO happy I got her. GOOD LUCK!:animal:animal36 |
