Bug Spray & Licky dogs So with summer around here come the bugs and of course for some reason I seem to be a magnet! I have to wear bug spray to work (I work outside a lot) and I have to even wear it in the house or I will get bit by things that come in. I got some deet-free spray but it has a bit of a smell to it so I was trying to use that one mostly at work. The other one is by Off! I worry though because my puppies are constantly licking me. Of course I don't want them to lick immediately after I spray down but I have to use it every 5 hours or so- so when is it safe for my puppies to lick me or should I try and keep them from licking me at all?? |
I tuck a bounce fabric softener sheet in my waistband. It seems to work well but hard to say for sure since I'm not a magnet :hands: |
What about those clip on ones, when you are near your pups |
hmm... I wonder if they have something I can put in the house that wont smell too much like we are at a camping ground  |
I would suggest using natural bug repellent mixture that you can make at home. I use this on my dogs but when I use it on myself, it protects me as well. Here are some info: Home-made natural flea repellent (Below are couple but there's various recipes using various essential oils. Recommendations is combining at least 4 different oils): - http://animalwellnesspei.com/?p=22 - http://www.ehow.com/how_4925075_make-flea-control-essential-oils.html - http://thewholedog.org/EOFleas.html |
