Silver Gold question
 
I know alot of questions about coloring but I am still a bit confused with colors growing in. Now from what I have been reading on here it seems a silver/white growing in is nomal and may further change back to the tan or gold. What my question is, is what about if the head hair goes directly to gold and the back stays blue/black. My Ruby is growing in the gold on head and staying dark on body. :confused:

Their coat changes so much.
You really can't have a true color before they
turn two. Princess has changed so many times,
she's almost three so I guess her coat is here to stay. :)

First of off, how old is Ruby? There's a chance she'll turn the gold/tan on the head but stay black in the body. It's a beautiful combination aside from being out of breed standard.

Sherry, I thought you got 2 more yorkies and named them silver, and gold :D ... Or that you were trading in some silver, and gold! I hope you find the answers that you are looking for!

Just a guess but your baby will probably be dark,and stay true to those colors.

She is 4 months.
Now I'm even more confused because I thought black /blue and Gold/tan were the standards an not the white/silver??? So what IS the breed standard???

Sorry for being so stupid and not getting it :p

Yeah its out of breed standard...but I love it!

I've got 2 yorkies that stayed shiny deep black in coat on body and tan on head/face. My others went through many stages of silvery/white, gold/silver, and they turned blue/tan/gold all but one who stayed silvery on her body. It really is hard to tell what they will really be before 2 yrs old.
