Is the smacking? When Darla goes to settle down. She makes a clicking noise almost like a smack. I've noticed it the last several nights. I don't notice a jaw movement so I thinking its more of a smacking swallow as she's getting settled. It only happens once or twice before she closes her eyes for bed. Anyone else's Yorkies do this? |
My male licks my arm for a while then he licks his feet for about 5 min. Before he falls asleep. I have heard my little female making a weird noise before settling down. I think she is grinding her teeth or something. Most of her adult teeth are in but she has held on to a lot of her baby teeth. I feel like her little mouth is just too crowded. |
I almost wondered if it was grinding but it is different then my son who is special needs and grinds his teeth. |
I agree. It's more like she's trying to get her teeth lined up comfortably or something. ??? |
All three of mine make noises in bed. When it gets excessive, I just cut back on the Cheese for a day or so. |

smacking noises My Bandit does this noise when he is getting settled for bed every nite and sometimes at nap time too. He is the first dog that I owned that does this. It is sooo cute too cause his eyes are already closed when he does it. |

Tibbe growls himself to sleep many times a week, especially when he finally settles down for the night. |
Thank you all for easing my stress. She is my first that does this. I was almost taking her to the vet for it! Thanks for calming my nerves.. |

As I read along here, I was thinking of just how hard it would be to explain stuff like that to a Vet. If we could just remember to pick up a Camcorder or a Cell which does sound/video, that'd definitely help with a diagnosis ;) PS: Fritz n Sophie I bet he doesn't apologize either :D |
Just to add. When Zach is about to sleep he makes this 10 minute sigh like the weight of the world is on his shoulder. |
