Is Bentley allowed to have a playdate? :) Almost everyone who replied to my last thread said I should wait for his last round of vaccines to take him out. (I've been taking him out in his stroller and car rides). My best friend has a 2 year old Pekingese and she's up to date on all shots and I trust my friend. Can she bring her dog over? Or should I wait for Bentleys last shots? He will have to wait another month and I am concerned he's not getting socialized... |
Its up to you you are taking a risk but since its yo ur friend and she says the dog is uup to date on shots I really dont see a big deal with it . Its not like its a strange dog you dont know anything about |

Play date If it were me I would wait until after the shots. Even though the visiting, known, dog is ok, it could have contaminants etc on his paws or body. Low risk I am sure, but better to be safe than sorry. |

Draco had only a 2 playdates. One was a nother small puppy who was also in the middle of vaccinating series and hadn't been around any other dogs. The other was a close friends dog who I trust and knew the dog would be up to date on shots and the risk of contamination was highly unlikely. The dog never visited dog parks or anything and preferred her walks in a her moms purse lol. |
If you trust your that your friend's dog is up to date on shots and you don't take them where other dogs have been playing then you should be OK. I'd make sure the other dog was not out playing around with other dogs before coming over. They are little babies and you do need to protect them like a baby. Being socialized is important but just don't take chances. |
I would'nt do the play date thing until all the shots were done just my opinion;) |
