Are Bully Sticks Rawhide? I bought these Bully Sticks from Petco, but the package says "Rawhide" on the back. I am confused, I thought rawhide was bad, but bully sticks were good? Ingredients: Beef Pizzle. I just need something to keep him busy while I brush him. If this product is not good, can you recommend something to keep him busy? He hates being brushed and will fight for his life! :sfunslap: |
Bully sticks I thought bully sticks were bulls' penises?? Raw hide is hide?? Weird labeling. The bully sticks are fine if the source is good and known, certainly not from China. I found they can be swallowed and dangerous (choking) when mostly all consumed, so good idea to supervise and take away when they get worn down. Should work well for grooming, they are obsessed with them. |

Not sure why they say Rawhide on the package, but I only buy my bully sticks from bestbullysticks.com (I trust them). Bully sticks are bull penis..not the same as rawhide, which is basically the skin/leather |

You may want to read an article about a study that was done on them. You may change your mind about feeding them to your baby. You can find it at: Tufts Study: 'Bully Sticks' May Be Bad For Dogs, Owners | The Grafton Daily Voice |

Bully Sticks are disgusting, they are Bull's Penis, and I still can't wrap my head around the folks here who spend bucu$$$ on quality dog food, clothing, etc...hand feeding, and caring for their babies every needs feeding their dogs BULLS PENIS. GROSSSSSSSS |
I did not know what they were made of. Having said that Barney loves them. Oh my! I think I will keep this info to myself. Wouldn't do for dh and son to know what they are holding while Barney chews it. After yesterday's trip to the vet, he no longer has balls to lick. Do you think they sell bully balls:)? |

Just like my kids, I'm not over sanitizing my furs' existence. Sam adores his bully and will chew for hours at a time, and he's not even an aggressive chewer. In 3 months, he's only managed to gnaw down about an inch of it. He's a picky eater, so extra calories are definitely the least of my concerns. |

I really have no issue with the sticks. My locally owned pet store carries Canine Caviar, and they make buffalo sticks. Bentley absolutely loves them. http://www.caninecaviar.com/product/buffalo-stix/ I do see where some can have a hard time thinking about giving their dogs a "penis" but when you think about what all dogs eat in the wild, it really does not seem all that bad. I mean Bentley will eat cat poop if he gets access to the litter box. lol |
Jess loved them and shes not a chewer.but they didnt love her. Bad diarrhea both time i gave them to her. If they dont bother her i say do it. |
