New Fur Baby Im so Obsessed with Yorkies I had to get one. Meet Tucker he comes home the first week in July, he'll be 10 weeks old. I grew up with Boston's and then with 3 labs! A friend of mine sent me pictures of there Yorkies and I've been hooked ever since. I've read and watched everything on these smart dogs. Still have lots of questions about my little guy. I will get him Vet checked on the way home. The breeder is feeding him and his brothers and sisters moist Purina Puppy Chow. Should I stay with that or get him on other high protein food? I plan on getting him the puppy apartment and start his training session! Of course he'll get his play time and plenty of loving. These dogs make me laugh with their little personalities. :) so happy to get him. I look forward to reading and watching our fur baby's grow on YT. |
How exciting! You'll love being a yorkie mom. I'll be surprised if you stop at one. They are just so much fun. Where are you getting him? |
Getting him from a local breeder. |
Nice! Are you able to visit him each week? |
Yes I visit him and they send me pictures. |
That's wonderful. He can get to know you. |
You have a cute baby on the way! Use the time you have to get prepared & RELAX. There's so much you can learn here - even if you search in prior threads. I've seen the "puppy apartment" advertised but never used it. I use only crate training and then the IRIS exercise pen. Yorkies can be relatively easy to train - if you're persistent!!!! It can be really difficult sometimes because our babies are soooo cute and small. We start letting them break the rules. I think that's where people have problems. Training is not kept up because the pee & poo is so small. Best of luck to you and post more pics when you have him in your arms. Tracey |
Is there anyway your breeder will keep him until he is 12 weeks? He learns a lot from his mom from 10 to 12 weeks and it really does make a difference. |
Congratulations. I would gradually change his food puppy chow is not the best for them but you need to do it slowly so as not to upset his little tummy. Also be sure to have some Nutri-Cal on hand in case his sugar levels drop. |
Congratulations! Your going to have so much fun with your new baby. Yorkies are so funny and sweet and smart. They just have the best personalities Genea |
