Its going to be a long day My little baby Puff is having her anal glands removed today. She was shaking and crying when I left-my poor baby. Originally they planned for her to stay there overnight, but there was no way I would agree to that-esp considering she would be all alone! I'm sick to my stomach thinking how scared she must be. I just want today to be over and to have my baby back where she belongs! |
I know how hard it is to leave them in the hands of strangers..even if it IS the vet. Hang in there. Just know that most of the time, she will probably under sedation and anesthesia and will be ok. For your own peace of mind, do not be afraid to call them any and every time you just can't take the waiting any longer..just call for an update. It helps. And, they expect it from the parents. Don't be worried about bothering them. Hugs! Praying all goes well with the procedure and for a full and speedy recovery. |
Sending good thoughts and prayers for your little Puff. Hang in there, it will all be over soon and Puff will be in your arms.. We are here all day if you need to talk :D |
Sending prayers for Puff. Let us know when it is over and how he is doing. |

Sending prayers for Puff for a successful surgery and a smooth and quick recovery. Hugs and best wishes to Mom. |
Puff Poor little baby. It is so hard to see them so scared and upset when we leave them off at a vet, or even the groomers. I hate to think of them sitting in a cage all alone, not knowing what is happening to them. But as another member said, Puff will probably be sedated and unaware of her situation for much of the time. I agree with you taking him home overnight where he feels safe with familiar faces around is the only thing to do. You can comfort him and love him and monitor how he is doing. It can't be a comfortable surgery to have and I hope he manages well in the post op healing period. Prayers for you and Puff. He will be fine, we always worry so much and it is usually not necessary. Please keep us posted and try to be calm, if only for dear little, Puff. |
Just talked to the vet. Surgery over 45 min ago. She said that Puff is already awake and standing up, which she said is amazing. She has even had a bm! I can pick her up around 5pm. Thank you for the kind words and encouragement. It really does help. |
Puff WOW, already up and running and a BM too!!!! Yeh. I would have thought she would not let anything through the rear end for a bit after that surgery. Ouch! Surgery sure went well and by the time you pick her up at 5, she should be ready to play and even perhaps eat? So happy for you and Puff. |

I'm glad to hear the surgery went well! It will be great when you have her back in your arms :) |
Oh it's so horrible, isn't it. I get so upset. Jackson is terrified, so it doesn't make matters for me any better handing him off. He also holds grudges and is mad at me for a while. I'm so glad surgery went well. :) |
Glad that puff is doing so well. Praying she has a quick and easy post op recovery!:) |
So glad that puff is doing so well |
