Is This Puppy A Yorkie?? 2 Attachment(s) Hello! I'm new here and I've been trying to find a yorkie near me for awhile now and I've never had one before. A friend told me that she knows someone who is selling their last 2 month old yorkie puppy. She sent me several pictures, but I am just having trouble believing it is a full blooded yorkie. I'm asking for more information now, like if they are registered or for pictures of their parents but no response as of yet. To me, it's snout looks too long and it isn't very scruffy like the other yorkie pups I've seen. What do you think?? |
I tend to agree with you. |
Yorkie puppies are usually fluffy and have a totally different look. Sweet pup though. |
Welcome to Yorkie Talk. He is a really cute pup, but I don't think he is a full-blood Yorkie, or he is off-standard. |
He looks like a yorkie to me but not bred to standard thats why he looks different than others youve seen. If you are not in love with every thing about this puppy it is better to wait, save and find a reputable breeder. The YTCA is a good place to start |
I agree with other posters...he doesn't look all yorkie to me...he sure is a cutie though! |
4 Attachment(s) He's cute, but like the other posters I don't think he is a purebred yorkie. Sorry to say, I don't believe he is purebred. I agree with you. How much is she selling him for? Normally there more fluffy. Like the picture's below: Attachment 387360 Attachment 387361 Attachment 387362 Attachment 387363 |

And I agree with you! |
His ears look thick.. his paws are pretty big too. He may be a big guy. If you have doubt’s I would look elsewhere. |
Thank you Deanna!! :) |
My morkie was fluffier too |
Here's a link about Yorkie breed standard if it helps any: Yorkshire Terriers: The AKC Breed Standard - For Dummies |

Cute pup, but maybe not pure Yorkie. The ears seem wide set and low and the snout has an odd angle at the bridge. |
Well she never said anything about the parents (just mentioned their weight) and said it was registered with some weird registry (like ACA or something) so I'm going to pass. She was selling it for $300 which was also a little suspicious because you don't normally find them so cheap. It looked too good to be true and I guess it was! Thanks to everyone for your help! I really hope I can still find one, though it seems they're hard to come by around here. |
Even if it is a full blooded yorkie. A yorkie should not leave there moms until 12 weeks old and I am guessing the breeder did not do health testing or care about the lines of her dogs which means you could end up with a puppy that has some genetic issues latter in life. |

1 Attachment(s) Some yorkies at 8 weeks have very little fluff. The ears do look awful low set to me though.. Below is a picture of Kyra at 7 weeks no fluff. We didn't have her yet in picture, we were just paying her a visit lol. |
Looks like a yorkie pup to me BUT a poorly bred pup. As someone else mentioned, most likely no health testing on parents either at the price they are asking. |
Thanks for the replies, everyone! When I posted this, I was early in my yorkie-searching phase and looking back at those pictures, I realize that pup did NOT look like a yorkie pup should at all. Luckily, I did find a puppy and I am so glad I was patient. She seems very right for me. She is coming home with me in a few days, I've already visited her and also really liked the owner and her other dogs, all very sweet :) I've named her Maisy and am so excited to get started with my new life as a yorkie mom! I've included some links to a couple of pictures of her too! Irisjade22's Library | Photobucket |
