I might be getting another yorkie Haylee's breeder sent me an email today. One of the people who bought one of Haylees sisters has returned her. She has had some changes and couldnt keep her. So Darla emailed me to see if I might be interested. I am still waiting on pictures but she told me that her coat is not as good as Haylee's and seems shorter and almost wirery? The pups name is Tinkerbell. Darla says that she is very lovable but will get in to mischief if left on her own. What yorkie won't. She is willing to give her to me if I decide that I want her as all she wants is for her to have a stable forever home with loads of love. But did say that if I decided that I didn't want her did I know of anyone else who could provide her with that? I am really torn as I had not even thought about adding another yorkie to our family and will have to talk my hubby in to it. But this is Haylee's sister and Graff is alot older than Haylee and tires out quicker than her, so then she has to play with the cat. Opinions anyone? On a side note I hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas. Ours was wonderful. My husband said it was the best Christmas that he has ever had. And he being the wonderful hubby that he is got me a past present future diamond ring for Christmas. Dare I now ask for another yorkie? |
A free yorkie thats a great deal! I would get her. |
I would jump at the chance to get Cali's sister and free. But it is a big commitment as you know and only you can make that call. If you decide not to maybe you could refer the breeder to someone on YT who would give it a loving home. Let us know what you decide! |
A free yorkie??? I couldn't pass that up, although I have low threshhold for any animal! |
Personally, I'd jump at the chance. Talk it over with your husband, let him have the night or a day to think the idea over thoroughly so he doesn't feel too pressured into it, and see how it goes. You can always play the, "poor baby has no home!!!" and give him a guilt trip over her. haha I hope it all goes well! |
Aww I think that you should take her in, but this is something that you need to sit and talk with hubby. It will be nice if Haylee's sister can be there with her. If you guys decide not to take her then maybe someone from YT can adopt her. Hope all goes well. :) |
All household additions have always been a mutual discussion first. I ask, I pout, he says yes. I just want to make sure first before I bring it up. I would love for Haylee to have her sister with her. And I know that the breeder really wants her to come here. Holy terror it will be like having two with the terrible twos at the same time!! If all goes well she should be sending me pictures either tonight or tomorrow. Any ideas on why her coat would be so different that Haylees? I emailed her to ask about housebreaking and what they were feeding her. She did say that all shots are current and she is registered. Not that her being registered matters to me, she would be a member of the family only. I don't intend to breed or show, just love and cherish. |
Free...sister...YES!! We have a boys and they are 1/2 brothers- same father and they are great together.... |
I'd take her in a heart beat. Bubba is almost a year old and we have just begun to consider getting him a playmate. |
Get her! You should get her...and post pics of her when you get them! I bet she is adorable!!! :) |
As long as she is healthy, I'd say yes, yes, yes! If not Send her to Maryland for me. Just kidding. Why would she just be giving her away instead of trying to resell her? You might want to ask. |
Her theory was she has already sold her once. Now she is just interested in finding her a wonderful forever home. Money is not the object with her, just making sure that she is taken care of and cherished like she is meant to be. |
Well, I got a picture of Tinkerbell. She looks so very different than Haylee. Her hair is short and almost looks wirey. My baby girl is definetly the pretterier of the two. She is not going to be a small one either. Not that looks or size matters to me. It looks to me in the picture like her former owner has cut her hair short all over. And her coat still has alot of black in it. The breeder said she chews when she is bored and she thinks that would be the reason why her previous owner returned her. She went to the vet before the breeder took her back to make sure she had a clean bill of health before she went back in to the breeders home. I do have a picture of her if anyone would like to see? I don't know how to post them here but would like for someone else to look at her and tell me what they think. Well it is time for me to get ready to go to work. Everyone have a great day! |
I would definitely get her! I wish I would have gotten Gidget's brother! He was sooo cute! Anyways, if someone gave me the opportunity you have, I would take her! Good luck in your decision! |
Oh my!! Looks like you have a decision to make. I am guessing that she may be a challenge as she probably has some bad habits that will need some work. I think you also have doubts because of her appearance, and that is normal, don't feel bad about it. You know what you like, and that's what you should have. Don't make a decision you may regret. If you have any doubts about wanting to take her on, offer her here on YT. You know SOMEONE would love to have her! And don't feel bad about it, either! :p |

She is adorable. I would definitely get her. But that's just me. My husband ultimately leaves these things up to me. I wouldn't think twice about it. I bet the two would get along really well. I say go for it. |
Tinkerbell is so cute. It will be awesome if you decide to get her. I wish I was closer. :) |
Tinkerbell has the coarse coat that an off-color Yorkie can have. Some times I have heard breeders use them to firm up colors in their lines. Especially, if they are red-legged. Now, the up side of this is that she will be REALLY low maintainence. Her coat will be a zip to care for. The down side is if her skin is affected as in the off-colors. The skin can be like that of a Blue Born and can be rough. IF, the ears have a coat on them, they will not require sunscreen as the ones with "bald" ears. It really sounds as if she has no health problems and would be a great pet for someone. What Yorkie does not come with issues? They are the most inquisitive, ornery babies alive and that is their draw as far as I am cocerned. I know you and hubby will work this out and if you decide you cannot take another Yorkie, find another deserving and loving person on YT.. Do not feel bad if you decide you cannot take her. Sometimes, things just will not work and another solution is the answer. |
Thanks guys for telling me what you think. I can't believe how much different she looks than Haylee. Haylee's hair is soft and silky and growing every day. In the picture Tinkerbell looks so much bigger than Haylee but I have not seen her in person. I have seen the Mom and Dad to Haylee and Tinkerbell and they both have the long silky coat. I have left a message with more questions about Tinkerbell, but have not heard anything back yet. So Tinkerbells hair will always be like this? Not that I really care I am just partial to the hair like Haylee has. Or at least right now I am. Haylee's puppy coat is almost gone and her new coat does not seem to tangle at all! I am going to attempt this weekend to put her hair up in a bow for the first time. After that I may wish that her hair was short too. Graff also has the silky hair but we keep him cut short most of the time because my hubby likes it better that way. I look forward to hearing more responses about what people think of Tinkerbell. |
How old is Tinkerbell? Because their coat changes so much. She might get the same coat as her sister. She sure is cute! :D |

They are both out of the same litter and going on 6 months old. I am still trying to decide on what to do. I would love to go see her and need to take Haylee to see Darla but I am not sure I can go see her and not bring her home with me. |

LOL!!! Thats the same thing I thought when I posted the pictures for her. She's Super Cute!!!   |
Awww she is super adorable!! I hope you're able to take her. :p |
She is too cute. The thing I love about the Yorkies is that they are so similar, but can be so subtly different. It might be nice to have 2 different types of coats, their own unique identifier. I know that my Laila has a really soft, cottony coat - so if/WHEN I get her a play pal in the future I would look for a coat that is less maintenance. Tinkerbell looks so lovely and happy, just a little bundle of joy! I'm sure she would LOVE to spend her life with a loving family like yours and her little sister. It would also be really cool if you had a relative that lived near by who was looking to adopt - then you would at least be able to see Tink and let her play w/ Haylee. Just a thought. Good luck with your decision, I know it must be tough! Tink and Haylee are just too adorable! |
