My Yorkie eats her poo (maybe) Hi Team My little rescue Yorkie is 9 years old. We have had her for 2 years. Prior to that she was a breeder in a puppy mill. We have had many issues and would not trade her for the most expensive Yorkie on the planet. She has serious separation issues which are better now. We leave her for short periods of time now. She has always pooped and urinated while we were out. Now I find small amounts of poop. I think she is eating most of it. We are wondering if a nanny cam is worth it to see whats she is doing. She is left in a small enclosed area and seems to be OK when we return. Will eating the poop hurt her? Any comments on type of nanny cam? All comments will be helpful. |
Most puppy mill and byb dogs do this, it is common. Will it hurt them? I do not think so or most of my fosters would have been at the vet a whole lot. I just watch them when I let them out and if they do the deed, I clean it up right away. |
Don't know if its the same.... but when Molly had her pups she would eat the poo, it started when they couldn't do it without her help, yes that was fine..well nature, but she kept on till they were about 5 weeks until we stopped her, did not really want her getting the taste for it, if you know what I mean, anyway seemed not to do her any harm, if your little girl feels the need to "clean up" going back to what she knew, a camera would tell you either way |
try feeding a little canned pineapple... for some reason that works. |
